Re: How many of you bet on women's tennis?
Too unpredictable for me, besides betting for Serena whenever she plays her pigeons.
I mostly bet on ATP

Re: How many of you bet on women's tennis?
I put €200 on Serena for Wimbledon last year and got odds of 3/1 on her to win the tournament - but did she make me sweat bullets the first week, she was so shakey! Put 20 on Kim for US Open as well but it was more of a punt than anything but I did win big on her when I put 20 on her to win the US immediately after her comeback and got odds of 14/1 on her then. Had some bad loses over the years but I never ever bet any more than I'm willing to lose. Thinking about taking on a punt on Li for the French as her odds are very very good but the French is such a lottery! Been betting on Womens tennis since 1998 when I bet Novotna would win Wimbledon. Bet on the mens occassionally as well mostly Nadal and mostly when he was winning everything!

regularly & on occasion, both. sometimes playing every day for weeks, then taking a break for 1-2 months. (no, not beause I lost everything.)
Unpredictable is good. Betting on some underdog can earn big.
Also I like "number of games" or "game difference" kind of bets.

About 200€, IIRC. I was on the edge of my seat the entire match. Kaia choked a 6-1 5-1 lead, I'll never forget it

Re: How many of you bet on women's tennis?
Here is a bit of a snapshot of how the ATP vs WTA fair in terms of upsets and betting in the past year at slams.
Quote:
(Upset with odds for the winner over $2.4)
Australian Open
WTA - 20
ATP - 13
US Open
WTA - 19
ATP - 18
Wimbledon
WTA - 16
ATP - 20
Roland Garros
WTA - 28
ATP - 13
|
I guess my tip would be if you want to make some money from upsets from the WTA, Roland Garros, or rather Clay tournaments, are the best way to do it.

Re: How many of you bet on women's tennis?
Yeah bet semi regularly. Mainly for the slams, but still bet for big tournaments too. Probably going to start up again for Madrid, Rome, FO.
My problem is that I do too many matches in parlays
So either win a lot or lose quite often.
Biggest win at Cincinnati when I was there this past summer

Re: How many of you bet on women's tennis?
This is my third year betting, but I've cut back since mid 2012 because of too many unexplainable upsets. Its not large amounts of money and its not rainy day money, so win or lose, its not critical. It the only sport I bet on. I bet on the US NFL (football) league in 2011, but that sport is very unpredictable and I lost a ton. I am ahead so far on WTA and it has almost made up for the losses on football.

Re: How many of you bet on women's tennis?
it's hard to bet on women's tennis, is too unpredictable
recent example?
fed cup
Kerber- Ivanovic 1.40 - 2.80
And Who won?
€ 150 lost

Re: How many of you bet on women's tennis?
All sports are unpredictable. It takes discipline and looking for situations where the odds are in your favor, not betting just for the sake of betting. I would never bet on two players in the top 20 going head to head like the Fed Cup example. Matches like that can go either way.

Re: How many of you bet on women's tennis?
Very occasionally. The last time was Roland Garros last year when Sara won me a few quid.
