Re: Silvia Njiric
Silvia lost today in Budapest QR1 to the #4 seed, Cabeza Candela. At least she won one set: 64 36 61.
Silvia really is one of the most inconsistent players (even by Croatian standards). This week she wins a set off the #231 player (and has another close set). Last week she loses in straights to an unranked player who has won only one singles or doubles match ever--and it was, of course, against Silvia

Still, kudos for a good fight against some mighty tough opposition.

Re: Silvia Njiric
Silvia really couldn't have asked for a better draw in QR1 of Bad Gastein, world #418 (current & c-h) Nicole Rottmann. Depending on which Silvia shows up to play, this could either be very good or really bad. After all Silvia did take Cabeza-Candela to three sets last week, but she also lost in straights to an unranked player the week before that, so who knows what happens today. Rottmann got destroyed by another Croat (Abramovic) not long ago, so I'm hopeful we can make this a tradition of sorts
Ajmo Silvia
P. S. This'll be Silvia's third attempt at getting a WTA win, let's hope it'll be third time lucky. Last year in Budapest she got a MD WC but got destroyed by Peng, and last week she played that three-setter in the qualies of the same event (Cabeza-Candela). Fingers crossed!

Re: Silvia Njiric
Silvia back in action this week at Brcko $10K but suffered a blindingly bad loss in R1:
Dalia ZAFIROVA (BUL) defeated Silvia NJIRIC (CRO) (3) 6-2 6-0

Re: Silvia Njiric

This is just pathetic.
Looks like Saša Hiršzon isn't doing anything good with her...
Maybe he had luck with Karolina because she was big talent...

Re: Silvia Njiric
She failed to 590th place in ranks this week! Hope she finds her form because she has good opportunity to make this season slight better if she preforms well at two 25k tournaments in Nigeria.

Re: Silvia Njiric
good news: she won her first round match
bad news: she lost 4 games to Agugbom, a 29 year old, unranked player whose personal best is 5 games in a main draw

That's gotta be the 8 least-deserved points ever in pro tennis...

Re: Silvia Njiric
Win is a win! At least she picked up some pts and this long trip will not be useless and hope for her to get some confidence.
