Marion Claytoli on mission!
As usual, this is the general thread dedicated to the European clay court season which provided Marion many points last year!! It was really her saviour and I hope this miracle will happen twice.
Marion will play Berlin, Rome, Strasbourg & Roland-Garros. Huge schedule, but she is right to consider every possible opportunity to score points before Wimbledon & gets in form for Roland-Garros.

Re: Marion Claytoli on mission!
Marion's draw in Berlin :
R1 - BYE
R2 - Razzano or Safarova
R3 - Szavay
QF - Ivanovic
Well the message is clear, Marion will face only hardhitters.
This should give us a pretty good view of her potentiality on clay this season, these are no claycourt specialists but they all scored interesting performance in the past on this surface. Marion had 3 weeks of break to work on her game & preparation on clay, if she worked as intensively as in 2007, results should come.
Allez Marion, beat them all!

Well,I'm almost afraid to give you too much praise because you may be one of those deluded,French Sartre-lovers and the compliment might go to your head...but I LOVE the title you've chosen for this thread.
Safarova is 1-0 in her career vs. Razzano but has performed like an over-the-hill Yugo with 100,000 miles on it this year.It might not be good preparation for tougher competition if Marion is fortunate enough to face her.Marion is 1-1 against Razzano although the loss occurred back when they were young girls with acne and the win was just this season.I believe that we'll learn by the 2nd match--IF Marion is victorious,of course--whether or not she has started to make her climb again...this is our yearning obviously.Allez Marion

If i'm right, Marion has beaten Razzano and Safarova in the past 12 months.. albeit not on clay.

Only 3 points for Razz in that tiebreaker,so NOT a cliffhanger.

Prefer a bit of Tolstoy and Dostoevsky myself, but whats that got to do with tennis?
What do I expect? Marion to get past the first round with ease. After that anything could happen in R32,R16.
What would be good? Reaching a QF against Ivanovic.
Marion Claytoli...

Indeed, why don't you tell us what Tolstoy and Dostoevsky have to do with tennis?
As much as I'd like to see her win,I'm not so sure that a Razzano matchup would be 'easy' for Marion...as long as she wins it,I'll be pleased.

Re: Marion Claytoli on mission!
Thanks for your kindness towards my title, c'est très gentil! I'm myself much more interested in Tolstoy and Dostoevsky than Sartre & De Beauvoir, so don't worry for my reaction ^^.
I also think that reaching QF is up to her with this draw. We'll be decided about the name of her 1st match opponent today, I would prefer Razzano to win. Marion would be more in confidence on the court since she has beaten her this year.
Allez!!

Tolstoy,Dostoevsk, Sartre & De Beauvoir pffffffff heavy reading this
I tried a bit of Kafka myself but could'nt get myself through it
Good luck Marion in your match against Lucie tommorrow.Tough match against a tough opponent but never imposible. if you play her the way you've played Vera Zvonareva you have a good chance of winning this match.Just stay positive and keep taking the match point for point game for game. AALLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
