This is such a great tournament for Despina. Just a week ago she was outside the top 500 in juniors, and now she's in the top 400 and will go much higher after this week's performance
I am not too familiar with the junior rankings, so I can't really say how high she will be

In doubles, Despina and Zheng won R1 6/0 6/1
In R2, they lost to Babos and Curovic, 7/6 6/4
Anyhow, Babos is a top 10 junior player (singles and doubles points are combined into one ranking), and Curovic is in the top 100. I am so eager to see where Despina's ranking will be

This time it's a G2 ITF junior tournament in Spain
She is seeded 6th and plays Belarus' Viktoriya Mun in the first round

Συνεχίζει η Δέσποινα Παπαμιχαήλ (No 231 ITF Juniors Combined Ranking) τις καλές της εμφανίσεις στην Ισπανία. Μετά τη νίκη της 6-1, 6-3 στον 1ο γύρο απέναντι στην Βουλγάρα Viktoryia Mun, νίκησε 7-5, 6-0 στον 2ο γύρο την Ιαπωνέζα Daniel Kana (No 1476 ITF Juniors Combined Ranking). Επόμενος αντίπαλος της Δέσποινας είναι η Πορτογαλέζα Patricia Martins, αν καταφέρει και την νικήσει θα βρεθεί στα ημιτελικά του τουρνουά.

Η αθλήτρια του Ο.Α.Ο Φίλαθλος αγωνίζεται και στα διπλά του ίδιου τουρνουά όπου με συμπαίκτρια την Ιταλίδα Alessia Camplone έχουν φτάσει στα ημιτελικά. Στον 1ο γύρο νίκησαν 6-1 4-6 [10-8] στον 1ο γύρο τις Ισπανίδες Sandra Gonzalez-Salas και Maria-Teresa Toro-flor και στο 2ο γύρο 6-2 3-6 [10-3] τις Carla FORTE (BRA) και την Aida MARTINEZ SANJUAN (ESP).

Το VIII Campeonatos Internacionales Junior de Tenis de la Comunidad Valenciana 2009 διεξάγεται στα γήπεδα της ακαδημίας του Juan Carlos Ferrero (γνωστός στα γήπεδα του τένις και ως κουνούπι), στην πόλη Alicante της Ισπανίας, Grade 2, σε clay επιφάνειες και ανήκει στο επίσημο ημερολόγιο της ITF Juniors.

Basically, it says that Despina beat Mun 6-1 6-3 And then she beat Kana 7-5 6-0
And she won R1 and QF doubles

She will play Portugal's Patricia Martins in the singles quarterfinals
