I can bet some retired wealthy couples living in Palm Desert area where Indian Wells is located. This is one of the favorite places in the US for retired people. Very mild winters. Very high mountains providing some cool respite in the Summer and only about 100 miles to Los Angeles.

After reading the captions, my guess would be Ula was meeting a group representing local sponsors/organizers, perhaps members of the local organizing committee support group, paying visits to players. Meeting such folks can be very nice, I am sure she and her visitors had a good time together.
