Re: Aleksandra Krunic
When won her milestone 50K title in China Alex bageled 4 of her opponents in the road to title, and today she also started with bagel against anonymous Georgian.
But than something happen with her (seems she is injured again ) and she lose 6-0 2-6 2-6 .
Back soon Alex and play again like real TOP150

Re: Aleksandra Krunic
Alex will next week play 50K ITF event in Russia without Qualies and I expect some really good news . Despite she more prefers outdoors than indoors, she always playing better on bigger events so we should forget all this 25K march troubles.
Since October when Alex was ranked about #800 she improved almost 500 places, and if we make deeper analysis of her results we will be even more optimistic about her future! Most promising about her is still fact that 1993 born Krunic is worlds only 1992+ born girl with 50K+ title so far, but that is not all. Her W/L record is impressive 21-6 in this period (since Oct/09), but please notice structure of this 6 loses: one is retirement after just 3 games and in 3 out of this 6 loses Aleksandra BAGELED her opponents , but her small body still is not able to follow her big talent in three setters, so her 85% winning percentage of 1st sets (22-4) and also impressive over 80% winning percentage of 2nd sets (21-5) is pretty damaged with her negative 3-sets record (3-4). Maybe young Alex will not grow anymore, but she has place for dramatic improvement in her fitness in upcoming period. Some "small" players like Schnyder, Cibulkova, Zheng (Coetzer in past) is actually well-known b/c their very good fitness, so we have reasons to believe that little Alex will be maybe next WTA "small-package" real-deal

Re: Aleksandra Krunic
Not so good draw for Alex in Russia. After qualifier in first round she will face two dangerous seeds. In 2nd round against player which reach two finals from 3 tournaments which played in 2010 beating 5 TOP200 opponents (including 2 former WTA TOP60 Oprandi and Ani) and in next QF round against 2nd seeded TOP150 player. But on other hand (thanks to her talent) Aleksandra is capable to beat anybody from this draw despite fact that her CURRENT ranking is 3dr lowest into MD Entry list. Good luck!

Re: Aleksandra Krunic
Unexpected big problems into first round vs qualifier (lose 6-1 1st set ). I'm just hope that reason is not injury. If she really have some health problems, bad thing is also that today after three setter in singles she played match in doubles.
Next opponent is probably player in best shape in bottom half of MD. If Alex survive she has wide open road to another very good 50K result this season!

Re: Aleksandra Krunic
Since sensational title in China this is all Alex Main Draw results:
0-3 retire vs #1077
6-0 2-6 2-6 vs #479
6-4 4-6 4-6 vs #126
1-6 6-3 7-5 vs #1106
1-6 2-6 vs #233
There must be some bold reason for all this disasters

Re: Aleksandra Krunic
Most juniors struggle with consistency nowadays. I hope she'll start to really show us how good she is by next year.

Re: Aleksandra Krunic
Krunic is in action this week at the Ukranian 25K, she's also seeded at this tournament, which is great. Good luck, Alex!

Re: Aleksandra Krunic
And she lost already in R1 to Veronika Kapshay.
She hasn't had a decent result since January. It's definitely a slump now.
