Alicia in Charleston!!
After losing to Bethanie Mattek in the first round of qualifying last week, Molik comes in to Charleston desperately in need of winning A MATCH. The entry list for Roland Garros will be released next week and Molik is currently 8 ranking spots outside the main draw cut off...with a win here, she could almost guarantee herself a spot in the Paris main draw
So let's use our brain powers and pray for a good draw

Good Luck Alicia, would be great if she could have an easy first round to get some points and get into Paris. Lets hope the draw is kind!

A good draw would be nice, but she had a good draw in AI qualies & she didnt fulfil her duties so I'm not so sure. C'mon alicia, you can do it.

dulko has had two wins all season... one against someone whos unranked.. and the other against ditty (got bagelled in the first set!)
so i win here is possible  very happy with this first round...

Dulko is way better on clay than hard though. Whereas Molik isn't. This being on clay Dulko will win the majority of bassline rallies you would think, and last week Molik wasn't serving very effectively. Not looking good i dont think.
However i know Alicia desperately wants to get into Roland Garros and Olympics so she will be pumping with motivation. Good luck!

Not an easy draw for Alicia, guys don't underestimate Dulko here even though she hasn't had a spectacular year & besides she did push radwanska to 3 sets on clay in AI. Furthermore Alicia ain't a fantastic mover on clay & Dulko will be lookng to take advantage of that by moving her around in the long baseline rallies.
And what Alicia has to do is to be patient in the rallies, serve well & attack as soon as she gets an opportunity. You can do it Alicia |
