This is obviously very different to Renee Richards. Renee was 100% man for years and then had a sex change. It was more understandable then I think, for those girls in the 1970s to be feel a bit disadvantaged. The girls giving Sarah a hard time are just nasty.

Well said and so true.......The world is actually a very beautiful place..it's humans who are horrible.

I had a T-Shirt made up a long time ago that says..

This is really sad and it's good to see such a positive discussion with some very warming comments.

Besides this discussion here there is sort of a fan page for Sarah with some nice and sweet comments (in german, some in english). Maybe some of you like to leave a message to Sarah, I am sure she will read them all, since the page makes lots of ads in german google search engine.

I have another reason why Sarah should keep playing. If she succeeds she will have admirers all over the world as a woman who succeeded against the odds and defying prejudice. She could be a role model and inspiration to many people throughout the world. I very much hope she continues and more than that I wish her the very best in terms of success. It would be great to see her going on to have a far greater tennis career than those idiots who mocked her.

All the previous messages read and agreed with, still..... this woman needs to realize that this type of comment will keep coming throughout her lifetime, and to learn how to deal with them. Simple as that. She cannot consider changing careers or stopping something that is important to her because somebody made a comment. It's pretty ridiculous, actually. She better toughen up.
