I went to sleep after Sveta fell away in the second set, thinking that Woz was going to run away with the third. Never thought it would be Woz to have the meltdown!

I'm wondering how much she has left in the tank? She has a 1:0 h2h lead over Kerber.

Sveta lost today 3-6 5-7. It was an outstanding match; she didn't lose because of her errors but because Kerber was the better player. Sveta's W-UE ratio was 29-26  Kerber's serve and FHDTL were killing Sveta and I think she knew it. Regardless, Sveta fought really hard and played really well for her second tournament back. Her serve was much better and net play outstanding. I think if they play again in Melbourne, Sveta can beat her.

Regardless of the loss, was an excellent week for Sveta. And for us..
Coming from the Qualies, winning 5 matches in a row, playing well.. Pretty sure that 6 matches in 6 days in the heat of Australia, was a problem in the end, but seeing her playing that way, already renewed my hopes for 2013.. 
She'll be trouble in the Australian Open.. |

She played a good match today, and had chances to actually win each set, but I think she was mentally tired at times tbh.

Despite today's defeat it's been a great tournament for Sveta and very enjoyable for the fans  Let's hope Australian Open is equally good

Sveta got into the relatively soft quarter-- great opportunity here for her! Up first is LDL. Sveta is 2:1 against her, but this is their first meeting on hc. Go Sveta

She got a good draw. Should be able to defend last year's 3R points and from them on it is a bonus.

Sveta has a great draw tbh....she certainly has the game to beat Errani in the 3rd round, but I still can't get RG 2012 out of my head.
