Marta Sirotkina Cheering Thread
Marta Sirotkina
DOB: March 22, 1991
I think it's time for a thread for Marta. She just won her first title, a 10K in Egypt on clay, dropping only one set along the way. She went pro in 2007 and has halved her ranking in a year. Look out for her come the US Open qualies.

Re: Marta Sirotkina Cheering Thread
It was hard court and she won the title in the 2nd week - now a top-250 player. Hopefully this is the start of a good rise for her!

Re: Marta Sirotkina Cheering Thread
Update: She's based there, her head coach is Garry Cahill and she's signing a major backing deal with British (?)/Irish company. They spoke about her on the radio (net) today. Seems a lovely girl.

Re: Marta Sirotkina Cheering Thread
Go Marta! 2 bronzes in China too. According to my hubby's nephew she's going to Dublin after the Kremlin Cup. Then watch her fly, it'd be so sweet if she won in Kazan.

Re: Marta Sirotkina Cheering Thread
The first game day of main draw of the Russian Championship in women's singles has not brought a surprise: all seeded tennis players came out confidently to the next round of competition (suffice it to say that none of them gave any competitor set).
1st racquet championship Muscovite March Sirotkina beat tennis player from Sochi Vlad Svarkovskuyu 6 / 4 6 / 2, and 2nd seeded Pauline Vinogradov was stronger Sabina Shaydulin of Kazan 5 / 1 6 / 2. Perhaps, the most intense fights on Wednesday outstanding games Daria Mironova (Vsevolozhsk, 6), play in the fight against Muscovite Maria Zharkov 6 / 3, 7 / 6 (32), and Alexandra Artamonova (8) from St. Petersburg, winning Maya Katsitadze (Krymsk ) 7 / 6 (5), 6 / 3.
On the same day in Kazan, competed for men and mixed pairs.
