ok so:

AO - venus williams bt anna chakvetadze 6-3, 6-7, 6-4 - venus mentaly wins this but anna chakvetadze enjoys her first time in the big time.

RG - serena williams bt justine henin 6-4, 6-2 - after being written off again after not defending her AO title, she proves the 'haters' wrong with an awesome display

W - elena dementieva bt venus williams 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 - elena outlast venus and keeps her nerve to claim the title, venus's consolation is the #1 ranking.

USO - anna chakvetadze bt jelena jankovic - 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 - anna loses it mentaly 2nd set but pulls it together to beat jj, she reaches a career high of #2 splitting the william sisters from the top 2 rankings.

henin has a bad season with lots of injuries and keeps up her run of bad even years. she is back strong in 2009 though!
