Re: How would you rate Makiri's 2007 season...
I thought Makiri`s year was average. While it has had it`s good moments like Makiri winning the doubles title in Doha and then her first singles title in a couple of year at Kolkata, it also has had some disappointing moments like her lackluster results in the grand slams and the four straight first round losses to close ou the year.

Re: How would you rate Makiri's 2007 season...
Strange year of little Maria...A title+ few victories with top players make this year better than 2006...But...terrible beginning+great summer+4 matches losing streak at the end is really strange...Anyway it was OK year, and I hope next will be better...that girl has a potential to be at least top20 player. She has power, she has game, and it'd be sad if she'd waste it...

I'd say exeptional ! She made an amazing season, just because she sucked those last years but this year she woke up and I'm really proud of her results Keep going this way Makiri

Re: How would you rate Makiri's 2007 season...
Obviously the fact that Maria hasn't made massive rankings progress this year is a disappoitment, but I'll be positive because she really improved in the second half of the season.
Okay, she finished with 5 straight losses, but 4 of those were in 3 sets against tough opponents.

Re: How would you rate Makiri's 2007 season...
6.5/10
We all know Masha can do better but I'm happy that she was able to win a title in singles and doubles. I'm not going to have too much expectations at the moment because of the really weird ending to 2007. But I feel that she is starting to get more comfortable about her game and her coach has been helping a lot.

Re: How would you rate Makiri's 2007 season...
For me it was average season....I know she can do better...but despite that I am satisfied, especially with the title (althought she beat Daniela)....good year but I wish her better next year....

Re: How would you rate Makiri's 2007 season...
I was split between average and above average. I ended up voting for above average. She had some really good parts of the season but also some very dissapointing results.

Re: How would you rate Makiri's 2007 season...
Definetely this yearis a LOST year for Maria.Sheshuld have been already in top ten but ufortunately she couldnt manage it ;if she had improved we would have taked about Maria this year. All the other youngers have made a huge step in their career-but Maria.
I hope she does not waste another year like this year because she is really a talented girl.

No. She won WTA title and ITF. She ended year in top30...Thats not lost year...Just remember her great summer, and victories against great players like Jelena, Marion, or Daniela...She had shameful losing streak at the end of the year, but she mainly lost to good players...

Re: How would you rate Makiri's 2007 season...
I would have to rank Makiri's 2007 season as above average. She recently won the ITF title in Dubai this past weekend, making it two singles titles plus a doubles title. I'm looking for a more consistent year in 2008 with a marked improvement in the Slams along with more singles/doubles titles. It's time for Makiri to show the rest of the WTA World she's a formidable force to reckon with next year.

Above average, #25 in the rankings at the moment and the direction she has taken since the summer has been right.

Re: How would you rate Makiri's 2007 season...
I think Maria had an average year in 2007. I want more in 2008. She really needs to make the second week of a major next year. And with a good draw she can.
