Who is due for a breakthrough in 2008?
Which players will make huge ranking jumps and surprise us?
I think Azarenka will move into the top 20.
Kvitova into the top 60.
Olaru into the top 40.

Re: Who is due for a breakthrough in 2008?
Serena Williams and Venus Williams
I hope. I have never seen either of them play a full year of high level tennis. This year they've been knocking on the door of the top spots but just couldn't stay healthy enough, or keep their level up.

If Natalie Grandin gets super fit, she'd be top 50 in singles.

 I forgot about Ayumi.
What is she ranked now? She definitely has the talent to be top 100. She could go even further.

Re: Who is due for a breakthrough in 2008?
If Mirza and Krajicek find consistancy they can climb to top 15-20
I think Knapp/Errani will surprise
and of course young players like Kvitova, Morita, Wozniaki and Cornet will have strong results

Of my favourites, I'm hoping Ayumi will crack the top 100.
