All Williams Final at US Open - May Not Happen
Because Lindsay is seeded #2 there. So,if 1 and 3 get on the same side,no all-Williams final.

Why qould Lindsay be seeded number 2 there?
And of course it may not happen, they both have to win 6 matches first.

Why would Lindsay be seeded #2 at the Open? The only way that can happen is if she increases her ranking throughout the summer up until the Open. I just do not see that happening unless she wins everything she plays and the Williams fall out early.
As far as I have understood, Lindsay does not have an injury protected ranking. Isn't that right?

Lindsay has a seeding of #2 in Stanford next week. HOWEVER, she is seeded BEHIND Venus Williams. That means that she would be seeded #3 at highest at the US Open.

Considering last year's finalists, and the last two US Open champions, are currently ranked #1 and #2, It's somewhat doubtful that Lindsay will be the #2 seed at the US Open.

the only way it is possible is if she gets an injury ranking, which may be the case

There's always a chance that it won't be an all-Williams final because nothing is certain especially in tennis. But I don't think it would be because of them not being seeded 1 and 2, I don't see how that could happen at all.

Serena is going to be seeded number one because she is so far ahead in terms of points that no one can unseat her before USO. Plus, she was last year's finalist and the 1999 winner, so they won't mess with her seeding.
Venus will be seeded number two because she is also too far ahead to be dethroned before the USO. She is the two time defending champ, so they aren't going to mess with her seeding also.
Lindsay doesn't have a protected ranking. That only happens in cases like Mary Pierce where her rankings sank so low that she is protected to enter tournaments (main draws) without qualifying rounds. However, because Lindsay didn't have any points to defend up until Eastbourne, she is safely in the top ten. And she is coming back with the BOW so she should be OK since she can now defend her points!
They may give her a higher seeding because she's done well at the USO before, but it won't be #2. Maybe #5.
Good luck to all three! Whoever makes the finals is fine with me!

Oh, and they won't officially announce the seedings for another few weeks. So whatever they have on their current site is old. Maybe from last year.

And how do you know that Lindsay will defeat Serena???
Serena won the last meetings, so it's more likely Serena to win and not Lindsay.
OMG and Lindsay just cameback! And why is Lindsay A RIGHT LOSS for Serena??? You're talking too much Jordan

Relax folks. Venus & Serena will be seeded #1 and 2 for the USO. As for the final: One would have to be a soothsayer to predict the future...but I wouldn't BET against it happening...
