Re: Sally Peers
Sally has Govortsova and I reckon it's a winnable match. Govortsova struggled through qualifying so hopefully Sally can score another good win

Peers/Ball def Niculescu/Butorac 6-1 6-2
They play top seeds B. Bryan and Huber in R2.

Re: Sally Peers
I wouldn't say she was great, her doubles level is usually a bit better than that but agreed Carsten played like a club bunny!!

Re: Sally Peers
Tough match for Sally against Eugenie Bouchard in the first round of $25,000 Burnie. Eugenie reached the SF of Junior Girls Australian Open last week

Re: Sally Peers
Very tough match for Sally against a top junior who will no doubt be in form and swinging freely. Also her first event as top seed I believe? Hope she can block it all out and get the win!

Re: Sally Peers
Below is Sally's draw for the $25k in the USA shes playing this week. There are a few good players in her quarter who can knock her off so I hope she's playing well. Lisa Whybourn first up, Lisa beat Sally in Wimbledon qualifying last year. Go Sal!
(1)Sally Peers (AUS) v Lisa Whybourn (GBR)
(wc)Yasmin Schnack (USA) v Q/LL
Ashley Weinhold (USA) v Q/LL
(8)Julie Ditty (USA) v (wc)Madison Keys (USA)

Re: Sally Peers
Sally won't have had much time to acclimatise after arriving after her doubles final in Aus last week so not too sure what to expect from her. She is also playing doubles with Sloane Stephens but they face the top seeds first up.

Re: Sally Peers
A Quater final would be a solid effort here, but getting over Lisa will be tough in the opening round. Ditty would be beatable but i reckon Weinhold will get through there...
