Larissa Liashenko arrives in Prague
Reuters
Today, at 4:00 pm local time, Larissa Liashenko of Belarus arrived in Prague where she will play in the 50K challenger. Liashenko, the 2001 Junior French Open champion commited late to the tournament and will be unseeded. She should have been seeded 3rd. I interviewed Larissa after her practice session.
*Question* Larissa, first things first, how is your foot?
*Liashenko* My foot is 100% now. I'm moving really well.
*Question* You commited late to this tournament, therefore, you are not seeded. What do you think about that?
*Liashenko* I don't care not being seeded. It doesn't change anything.
*Question* What about playing Carmen Prado in the first round? She is seeded 4th.
*Liashenko* You know, I respect her, she plays a good game. I watched some tapes of her with my coach and I know exacly how I will play her. Eventought she is seeded 4th, It really doesn't matter.
*Question* How do you feel about the upcomming season? Are you ready? Can you make a move to the top?
*Liashenko* I'm very confident about next season. I played really well in the Junior in the first part of this season and I'm very satisfied with my performence in the pros. I won a tournament in Vienna beating Jane, Ruflina, and Selima so, yes I think I'm ready! I definetly think I can move up the rankings. My goal is to be around the top 10-12 before Wimbledon.
*Question* Thanks Larissa and good luck this week!
*Liashenko* Thank you very much!!!
<br />Larissa Liashenko hits a forehand to caoch Larisa Neiland. Liashenko is playing in the 50K challenger in Prague this week. In the first round, she'll face Carmen Prado of Spain.

Monica Gambill happy with draw!
Monica Gambill arrived early in Prague in order to practice for the tournamnet next week. She said she was happy with her draw.<br />'I don't mind the draw even though i am playing Paula who is a great player i'm leading our head to head 3-2,she did win our last meeting in Bolton but she played amazing there!I hope i can return the favour here and gain some needed points for my ranking which is really low at the moment because my results have been very dissapointing'<br />'This is my last tournament of the year so i'll be straight off to austrailia for christmas and new year in order to play the austailian hard court season'<br />'This season has been up and down for me i won a match at the US open and got to a semi, quarter and final in challengers and i've won a doubles title but bar that i've lost first round'<br />'Next year i'm hoping to improve, become more consistant and get into the top 30.If i fail to achive this i will quit tennis and go back to full time education!'

***MADONIKA AND THE ENTIRE TOUR HATE JELENA DOKIC***
Madonika Diva Jahfson once again routinely put out Lindsay Anne Sarile, 6-1 7-5! However Jahfson had more important issues on her mind. Once again she stunned the crowd by walking out naked on court. On her chest there was a message for all to see "MEXICO SHOULD BE IN CONNOLY CUP YOU STUPID DOKIC BITCH!"<br />Officials tried to get Madonika to put some clothes on, but she proceeded in playing the entire match naked. Sarile was stunned and very much distracted which sparked up controversy that she is a lesbian!<br />In Madonika's press conference she had the following to say:<br />"I would just like to say that everyone on tour hates Jelena Dokic and what she did in not including Mexico in the Connoly Cup, is just ignorant and idiotic. A lot of the tour supported me in doing this tonight, including Anna-Maria Herrera, Caroline Mutola, and Carolina Spencer. Mexico should definitaly be in the Connoly Cup, I hope Dokic gets it through her crusty old head! EVERYONE HATES YOU DOKIC LEAVE THE TOUR!!!!!!!!!"
