I was watching David Letterman the other day and venus mentioned that her and serena want to play doubles. Any news on if they got a wildcard or are into the draw which doesnt come out till tomorrow??

I really hope they did because if they did I expect complete Williams domination of the singles and the doubles tournament

I dont know its rather wierd... she said they were "hoping" to play, but it made it sound like they werent going to be able to.. which seems odd to me as who in their right minds wouldnt give Venus and Serena a wild card into the doubles draw? especially since they want the ratings....

I think if they want one they should get one espically since they are Americans at the tournamrnt run by the American Tennis Association and the USTA

i hope they didn't decide on playing doubles, because both of them have plenty of injuries and what will happen is that if they get to quarters at both they'll eventually skip the doubles!!! And that is completely annoying and unnecessary!
Since they can't keep to an already limited schedule why play doubles? The money, the prestige? they already have it, if they play and withdraw I will completely hate them and stop respecting them, now I dislike them, but still have some respect.
