Win or lose, the Williams are my girls, and Venus is still a great Champion. She simply lost to a better player today.

She will win many more titles before it's over, and I am so very proud of her and her family.

I think I remember her saying when Serena was 1st to win the US Open that it encouraged her to work harder and she went on to win it, too. So if anything, she will do as true champions do---work on a few things, reload and come back again, more determined than ever!

I cried when you lost yesterday...I never felt so bad...I knew you were soooooo disappointed and I felt it too.....how can my heart feel so heavy, how can you loss hurt so bad...I don't even know you....
