she was really unlucky with draw. first she used her sr and last acp. were 5 ad. WCs. than 3 matches were WCs vs. WCs and she got 1st seed, top 100 player. probably played great match but had bad service day. and if she can get that close to beating top100 player with such serve than we can expect good things in future. too bad for points and used sr, she'll be needing them. but congrats for fight.

Jelena plays LLW in R1 of Vancouver 75k, so there's a chance to revenge that tough loss to her from Grapevine 50k earlier this year. Since that one went into three and that Jelena beat her easily 3 years ago, I'm really hopeful here. In case of a win she'd probably play Razzano, but let's take it one step at a time.

Yeah, that would be great. I think the rules state that the player can use SR for two slams, and I think it's in a matter of 12 months, so maybe she'll use the other one for the French, unless her ranking gets good enough by then.

Jelena lost to Razzano but kept it close: 64 75. That's not bad at all, considering Razzano is #124 and was top 20 less than a year ago.

I'm very encouraged by Jelena's last three matches. Yes, she lost two of those but they were against Razzano and against Chan, who's #84 (and it was extremely close: 63 67(3) 57).

Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come. It would be wonderful if Jelena won at least one match at USO qualies. Winning one match would lift her ranking by some 150 places.
