Re: AKGUL! The Gentle Giant's Wildly Enthusiastic Fan Zone
She is starting to look better in the last month or so. Lets hope she keeps it up and gets a ranking that avoids qualies at most tournaments.

No, not yet but I would LOVE to!!
Nearly travelled there about 18 years ago and I've wanted to go there eversince, long before I started supporting Akgul (since 2008) I'd love to travel to all the 'Silk Route' countries....Mongolia, Kazhakstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan etc.. and of course go to Tashkent Open too!!
Have you ever been to Uzbekistan? Tashkent?

Re: AKGUL! The Gentle Giant's Wildly Enthusiastic Fan Zone
Poor Akgul, it hasn't been the best season for her, with lots of injuries and discouraging losses. After four years in a row ending the season in the top 100, she has fallen to 125.
But you guys know our Akgul! She just keeps plugging away. After a disappointing Asian swing, she's back on the Euro ITF circuit. Here are her results so far in this week's 50K in Joue-les-Tours, France:
r1: (6) AkgulAmanmuradova (UZB) d. Julia Glushko (ISR) 62 62
r2: (6)Akgul Amanmuradova (UZB) d. (wc)Irena Pavlovic (FRA) 64 76(4)
