Such a shame. The draw was wide open.

she has to fix her serve...its really really bad. it doesnt come close, in terms of quality, to her groundstrokes...

Re: Su-wei Hsieh New Start Cheering Thread

i hope that the defeat in the French doesn't mean that her 4Rd in the Australian was pure luck...
I personally believe that she hates clay, let's see what she will do back in the U.S. for the summer season.

Thank you Jujul!
It IS a strange choice, but I guess she plays better and feels better in the Asia-Pacific zone, I mean, her results this year only prove that (4Rd Oz Open, W- Incheon (ITF))
And when you're playing against much weaker opponents, your sure to win.

Re: Su-wei Hsieh New Start Cheering Thread

Hsieh d Kakuta 6/3 7/5 !
Kakuta is no ranked and came from the qualification !
I don't think it is a good result !

It wouldn't surprise me if she took the match 'easy'.

Tomorrow should be a tougher test.

Re: Su-wei Hsieh New Start Cheering Thread

Actually, I watched the match online. It was actually quite easy for her. She just made mistakes trying to go for strange shots as usual but it looked very one sided unlike what the scoreline was suggesting. She was leading 5-0 the first set before gave away 2 games. She was trailing 4-5 the 2nd set but very quickly woke up and finished last 3 games in a hurry when she decided to play well. The match will be online again if you are interested and her singles match/double match are still online. http://www.ea-la.tv/mottotennis/result/index.html Make sure you use internet explorer as the browser.

Re: Su-wei Hsieh New Start Cheering Thread

probably because she is partnering her little sister in doubles. Unfortunately they lost in 3 sets. The chinese pair pretty much targeted her little sister as expected.

Re: Su-wei Hsieh New Start Cheering Thread

Su-Wei quietly won her first round match easily agains Cohen-Aloro. This is a big deal because she's hardly won any matches of late. Up next for her is Safina, who is still a beatable opponent on any surface but this is Su-Wei's best shot and she has shown that she can take on just about anyone...If she plays well, she could definitely upset Safina! But you never know with Su-Wei and that terrible serve!!

Re: Su-wei Hsieh New Start Cheering Thread

I was so relieved that Su-Wei didn't do another RG.

I definitely think she's 'capable' of upsetting Safina. She needs to stay mentally tough, though.

I never thought she should lose to Cohen-Aloro on grass, but yes you never know with Su-Wei.Glad she pulls it off with a rather easy scoreline.

Kick Safina's ass now.

Great win. Su-Wei's had great GS 1st round draws this year.

Well I dont expect her to win against Safina but good luck.
