Und warum bleibt man nicht?
Ganz einfach, weil man in Istanbul gar nicht mehr will. Man hat diesen Wettbewerb nur für die Olympia-Bewerbung genutzt. Ansonsten hat sich das ja wohl nicht rentiert.

Trotzdem gehört dieser Wettbewerb eher dorthin, wo auch die Mehrzahl der Top 10 Spieler herkommt, nämlich nach Europa.

An sich ist die Idee von einem "wandernden" Masters ja gar nicht schlecht. Aber wieso immer für drei Jahre? Das ist irgendwie weder dauerhaft noch einmalig.

Auch im Westen können Masters-Events allerdings total floppen, so z.B. 2002 in Los Angeles.

Wir haben nicht mehr 1950. Man kann unkompliziert um die ganze Welt reissen..und da wo das Geld ist geht die WTA hin..die Märkte verschieben sich.

Ja man sieht, wie "gerne" die Spielerinnen reisen, wenn ich mir Entry Liste von den 125er Turnieren in Asien anschaue und dann mit ITF-Turnieren in Europa vergleiche.

75 bis 80% kommen nun mal aus Europa. Das ist bei den Herren genauso und die ATP macht das absolut richtig mit der Turnierplanung.

So wichtig sind weder diese 125er noch die ITF Turniere..die grossen Events in den Ländern sind gut besetzt und werden es auch sein..keine Spielerin wird ein Masters in Asien absagen, weil es ihr zu weit ist..in DOHA waren sie auch ohne Zuschauer.

Die großen Events sind so gut besetzt, weil es Pflichtturniere sind. Las mal bei Tokyo und Peking die Antrittspflicht weg und dann schau mal, wer dort noch antreten wird.

Natürlich, weil die Spielerinnen eben zur Mehrzahl nicht aus Asien kommen. Das ist aber kein Grund, keine Turniere dort zu veranstalten. Ich finde ja 5 Turniere in China auch etwas viel, aber das man zumindest eine "Asian Swing" hat, ist der Bedeutung der Region dann schon angemessen. Zumal eben Singapur z.B. im Anschluss an die Asien-Tour wäre und somit eigentlich nicht schlecht liegt.

Ich bin mittlerweile eher dafür, im Februar die europäischen Hallenturniere zu bündeln.

Swing?
Es gibt im Januar, Februar, März, Juli und von September und Oktober inzwischen Turniere in Asien.

Die ATP hat da erheblich weniger. 1 1000er Turniere und 3 500er Turniere, die auch noch teilweise zeitgleich sind, dazu ein paar kleinere Turniere. Da sollte ja eigentlich ausreichend sein.

Auf dem Weg aus Australien den Nahen Osten mitzunehmen macht Sinn. Und Baku mag geographisch in Asien liegen, sportorganisatorisch gehört es zu Europa, auch in anderen Sportarten, sind z.B. auch UEFA-Mitglied.
