Re: Career-High Ranking History (Top 30)

2. Evonne Goolagong, Andrea Jaeger, Billie Jean King, Conchita Martinez, Anastasia Myskina, Jana Novotna, Virginia Wade

5. Rosie Casals, Margaret Court, Jo Durie, Sylvia Hanika, Daniela Hantuchova, Jelena Jankovic, Kathy Jordan, Betty Stove, Natasha Zvereva

7. Julie Halard-D, Kerry Melville-R, Olga Morozova, Barbara Potter, Kathy Rinaldi, Barbara Schett, Patty Schnyder, Irina Spirlea, Greer Stevens, Andrea Temesvari, Nicole Vaidisova

8 Nancy Richey (omitted from original list)
9. Lisa Bonder-K, Françoise Dürr, Lori McNeil, Dinara Safina, Brenda Schultz-M, Paola Suarez, Sandrine Testud, Dominique van Roost, Vera Zvonareva

21. Shinobu Asagoe, Jeanne duVall, Helen Gourlay Cawley, Joanette Kruger, Kate Latham, Henrieta Nagyova, Beth Norton, Marianne Werdel-W

Great list Brian & good idea to update, Spiceboy. It's only fair to mention, imo, that the players in large type & italics above were surely ranked higher before the inception of the rankings in November 1975.

Thanks for pointing that out, Andy.

As you state these players got a better ranking before Official WTA Rankings came into effect and this is one of the things that I changed from Brian's previous thread. I just considered rankings from that date so we can have an official cut-off

Tough task

Specially regarding to those players from the 70's and 80's...I made my life easier and placed them alphabetically

Re: Career-High Ranking History (Top 30)

Mary Joe was such a QUIET number four. She was almost an unknown when she reached that ranking in the Evert-Nav era, since Evert-Nav were grabbing all the titles and the headlines.
