You could see on the livescores that Simona was very tired after the early break and in the end, the clear favourite won. But that's no problem for Simona! She won't break in mentally after this defeat, because she had nothing to lose and all in all, it was a great performance from her.

Tomorrow she will be ranked with a new carrier high, though, what gives her best chances to end the year as Romania's number two

In Saint-Raphael next week, she is now the big fave to win!! So let's do it!

I mixed it with another result!

I will erase it immediately! Like I said, Manasieva is in brilliant shape, so she wasn't an easy opponent for the first round.

Now i'm speachless, because the result is nevertheless dissapointing and shows that Simona has still a huge lack of constancy on Hard Court

Maybe she was still tired, but that doesn't excuse this harsh defeat

Edit: Someone posted it wrong in the Saint-Raphael thread, because he read wrong results in the teletext

In this interview, the former and only Romanian Grand Slam Champion Virginia Ruzici praises newcomer Simona Halep!

She says that Simona has the potential to become the next Romanian tennis star and like her, Simona won the French Open (in her case the youth tournament)

Virginia goes on by mentioning Simona's power and rapidness as her strengths, but she has to improve her constancy and attacks on the net

I'm very prouf of the progress she made during this season. By the way, do you think that Simona earns the award for the best newcomer of the year? This topic is highly debated at the moment.
