Re: Marija Mirkovic
Snubbing the 25ks in Australia in favour of stronger ITFs in Europe can't possibly be seen as a bad thing. The only 'bad' thing about that is that she isn't supporting the tournaments in Australia, but for mine, it's smarter scheduling in the long run! Exposure to stronger competition > getting easy points at weak tournaments in my book.

Re: Marija Mirkovic
Yeah I don't think playing o/s in favour of easy events at home is a bad thing at all. Unless your are someone like Renee Binnie or Julia Moriarty. Both those girls could have made the main draw in Bundy/Ipswich and scored much needed points, but instead played overseas and failed to pick up points
For someone like Marija, who has the ranking and the ability, it's a smart thing to do in the long run.

Re: Marija Mirkovic
^^
I think it's a great thing that Marija has put herself out there. What I meant was that TA won't look upon it favourably because she is not ''supporting'' local events and that threatens her chances of getting WCs

Re: Marija Mirkovic
Marija needs to think about what helps her and screw TA. She is obviously not one of their love children and never will be. To snub anyone because they choose not to play in what can only be described as a pathetic local $25k challenger is ridiculous but shows what the management at TA is like.

Re: Marija Mirkovic
Marija A decent effort, the experience this is giving her is really quite valuable. She just needs to stick at it and keep trying to improve with each performance.

Re: Marija Mirkovic
Marija is playing a 25K in Russia this week, she is sitting at 301 in the rankings so she just needs one win here to break the top 300. She has a good shot at this as she seeded 6 so hopefully she can have a good week. Good luck Marija

Re: Marija Mirkovic
R1 against a 16 y.o Russian wildcard ranked outside the top 1000.
It would be normal to expect Marija to win this.
Added incentive for her; top 300 if she wins
Both her and Olivia could join Moore, Ferguson and Adamczak in US Open qualifying at this rate

Re: Marija Mirkovic
Good scheduling for Marija. Hope she makes the most of her seeding. Good way to get some cheap points if she wins a couple of matches. This could be her first main draw win in Europe for the year as well

Re: Marija Mirkovic
Marjia won her first round in Moscow in 2 sets. Well done, and I think this means she is in the top 300.
