Sille Tranberg/Mikkel Bodzioch d. Emma Tranberg/Axel Cronje 75 63
Clara Tauson (U12) won three titles. WD :yeah. Emma Rønholt is looking solid again. It'll be nice to see her at the "real" women's championships in August. Good tournament by Mathilde Tranberg: She's not one of the U14 girls who travels with the national team (those are Helena Francati, Rebekka Hillingsø, Sofia Samavati, Olga Helmi or Hannah Møller). So it was a very good achievement to take the title! Well done.
Dahish TV2 were at the Copenhagen 10K yesterday, but the didn't really report from the event. It was rather a story about the Danish juniors and their dilemma about choosing between education and a career as elite tennis players. The big majority of Danish players seems to go the safe route and choose education first. Emilie Francati was singled out as the only one willing to go 'all in' for her tennis at the moment. National coach Kenneth Carlsen said the girls need to take some risks and go 'all in' if they want to eventually have a pro-career. Another expert disagreed though. But it's an interesting debate. (Wozniacki, if I'm not mistaken, was able to get an education during the years when she also won Wimbledon juniors).
They showed a few points from the Francati/Jespersen doubles match.
She's been playing at the Danish national championships this week (real championships, not juniors). She won bronze in mixed yesterday (with Johannes Ingildsen):
She reached R2 in singles (lost to Frederikke Svarre - a 1996 girl). I don't know her schedule, but I don't think she'll play outside of Denmark the next months or so (nothing listed on the Federation's schedule). Danish team matches are coming up in August.
There are some TE U16 tournaments coming up in Denmark late August and early September, but I don't see her on the entry list. Which is rather strange as the first tournament is hosted by her own club.
There's a junior ITF in Denmark in October, HRT Autumn Cup. She'll probably play there (she did in 2013).
Julie Noe has withdrawn from the tournament. I don't know if Julie will skip USO too (she's still on the USO junior acceptance list). My guess is she won't go to USA at all. No point of it really, considering this is her last junior season (apart from the experience). And she can't even be sure she'll get entry. Might as well move on to the pro circuit.
