Yes, a doubles semifinal is very good. They were unseeded in both doubles and singles and didn't have easy draws this week. It's been looking good for the Danish girls lately: Julie Noe runner up a week ago, and now Emilie in another final.
2013 has been much better than 2012 when Julie Noe was the only Danish girl in an ITF final. So far this year Emilie Francati, (twice), Emma Rønholt and Julie Noe have been in ITF finals. Emilie won the title in Oslo. Plus a lot of good doubles performances (including quite a few titles). Nice job, girls
Great week. Emilie will probably climb 75 positions or so on the ITF rankings (to #230-240) if I'm not mistaken. I'm not too concerned about rankings but at least it will give her entry to higher grade tournaments (or better draws/seedings)! Well done
Thanks for updates
Emma was playing doubles SF in Cyprus (was it Thursday or Friday?) and then back in Denmark Saturday morning playing Team nationals (won both her singles matches in the SF and in the bronze final). So I guess it was just a sensible decision she and her team (parents/coach) made to go to Denmark and not return to Cyprus again this week. That would probably be very stressful (and expensive?). I wish she was in Cyprus though.
Emilie has moved up to #230 @ITF. WD! Tough match in R2. GL!
