Joyce gets the axe
I was in Key Biscane today and everyone noticed that Marias coach Mike Joyce that has been with them for 3 years was replaced. There is no word on who was with her. Allthough it was heard her hitting partner couldn't make a ball in the court. Yuri apparrently told the hitting partner that he would only be making 2 dollars a day if he was in Russia and if one more ball was missed he would get axed with no money or food. I guess there is no such thing as loyalty when a bad match is played i guess. Its really a shame because Maria would be nowhere if it wasn't for Mikes brillance.

I guess we'll find that out, won't we? I'll bet you a dollar she wins another slam sooner or later.

Yuri Yuri Yuri................. (sigh)
Treating people like means to an end instead of an end in themselves will only cause Masha to suffer in the long run

P.S. I like the name, Man-Child; it's a word that is severely underused

Looks like Maria's going to have to learn a new set of signals.....

Re: Joyce gets the axe
yeah I don't think that they'd let him go after all that he's done for her.

Re: Joyce gets the axe
If Michael Joyce did get the axe, that may be a good thing. If the best he can do when she's struggling is to yell at her and say "FIND A WAY TO WIN" when he gets a chance to coach during a match, then I have a feeling she could find a better coach. And maybe a coach that wouldn't have allowed a couple of matches with the yips on serve to turn in to a three tournament long stretch of the yips by one of the best servers in the game. And if indeed the hitting partner couldn't keep a ball in the court, then yes, he needs to be axed too.
