WTA NEW HAVEN: Camila Giorgi is a tornado, exceeds the former No. 1 in the world Caroline Wozniacki and access to the quarterfinals
The tornado blue Camila Giorgi struck on the concrete of the Centre Court in New Haven, winning in the evening access to the quarterfinals of the main draw of the WTA Premier tournament Connecticut Open presented by United Technologies, goal achieved thanks to the success of the match second round against Danish former No. 1 in the world current No. 11 Caroline Wozniacki, defeated in straight sets after one hour and eighteen minutes of the game with the final score of 6-4 6-2.
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: "She hits every ball as hard as she can. She just went for it and the balls were going in.
I felt a little tired and didn't move as well as usual. That doesn't help when you play somebody where you really have to be ready from the first point.
I knew I was going to get limited break chances, and when I did get them, I didn't convert. I knew I had to be aggressive out there and try to push her back, but I didn't manage to do that today. She played well, and I didn't. I would have loved to have been here longer, but it wasn't to be this year. Now I just need to take the positives out of it. I get a few extra days to rest up and practice for the US Open."
About first bolded part: It is called talent.
Camila was finally serving well today. She defeated Vandeweghe 1&3 with just 39% first serves in! I was very impressed when I saw this.
Today she had even above 55% 1st serves in and she is defenitely a top player when her serve works so well.
Also her return of course.
She didn't look tired, she looked less talented And frustrated, because Camila is a better player even when she's playing only 70% of her ability. She still had 26 UE's but it's so so so much less than her usual shit And the lack of 10+ DF's surely helped
Sara Errani Camila Giorgi
WHAT?!? They are not televising the QF match of a spectacular rising player (having great media potentials too) who can turn into 2.0 mode just right here in New Haven, in front of our eyes?!? (They don't know that the 2013 Rome tournament is still in conversations just because there and then happened, that a certain Simona Halep (now No.2) turned into 2.0 mode play?) Idiots. (Sorry, I must say.)
