What's the deal in all the Israeli press about Camila accepting Israeli citizenship in exchange for playing Fed Cup for them? Would that mean she would actually have to take up residence there?

there is nothing of true about it. her father already said it is something totally made up 
she will keep living/training in miami...dont worry 
Her father also said she is going to play fed cup for italy too

I didn't know she was Jewish. If so, it could have been a crafty ploy by Sergio to get that out into the press. A lot of Jews play and have played pro tennis in the US, and a lot of them go to the tournaments as spectators. Jews are always looking for Jewish sports stars, and they are always eager to pull for one of their own. If Jews embrace Camila, this could possibly get her more wild card offers from tournament directors figuring her presence would sell a lot of tickets.
But I couldn't imagine her trading a residence in Miami Beach for one in Tel-Aviv as an Israeli citizen. They might expect her to serve in the military!
