Wow, I thought Amélie was playing really well today , so sad it had to end with an injury for Jelena  ; it was a great match up until then. I hope she gets well soon....
What an entertaining match with the interruptions for the  and the umpire getting the score wrong!  I thought Amélie did really well to keep her concentration through all of that, if she'd have dropped serve the set would have been back level again. I don't think she was too impressed with the umpire  (can't blame her!) I loved her sit down protest! At least Alan Mills knew what had happened; (I wonder what he's doing there, I thought he'd retired! I guess he can't stay away from tennis and I'm sure refereeing Dubai must be a lot less stressful than Wimbledon!) Anyway, I've digressed, sorry! 
BTW, does anyone know if that is Jerome Bianchi (and his son?) sitting with Löic at the side of the court? (I guess Michel Franco didn't come as the Dubai trip was a last minute thing). Also, after Jelena retired she and Amélie chatted a bit and it looked like Amélie was giving her some advice or something? I just wondered about it as there was that other occasion (can't remember which tournament now), when Amélie asked Michel to help Jelena out when she was injured....
Oh, and how did Sveta manage to lose to Justine  , I watched it until early in the second set and couldn't believe the final (set) scoreline...

I think(not sure) Amelie helped Jelena at US open last year. But this time it looked to me like Amelie asks Jelena: "does it hurt you when you stand on your foots fingertips?" And Jelena confirmed it. 
BTW thread title is the right one. I hope she don't play until Miami!  |
