Re: Qualifying Draw!
I thought Eggy said there was a new rule this year that players must be in the top 500 to receive Tier 2 WCs?
I guess the rule refers not to ranking but to "top 500 richest people in the world".

Re: Qualifying Draw!
Nice stats for Brie Whitehead!
-9 out of 17 matches she's lost 6-0,6-0;
-She's only ever won 1 match of any kind on the circuit (understandably her opponents 1 & only attempt at the circuit);
-Aside from that has lost all sets easier than 6-2;
-All but 2 of the matches she lost, she lost a 6-0 set.
I'd say this is a talent that's more than worthy of all the wc's she's given!! Makes a mockery of the ranking system that this woman can get to # 754 in the rankings!!

What's awful about it is when you think of players like Akgul, who would actually have a chance to win most of these matches that Brie loses 06 06, especially if she could afford coaching, good shoes, travel, etc -- but who never gets the opportunity, because WCs are apparently being sold to the highest bidder, no matter how bad that bidder's tennis record is.
Of course, money can't buy Brie wins. Just ranking points, from losing in WTA qualies, over and over.
