A big weekend for AMTs with the long weekend. A few interesting things:
Izzy Holland took a WC to enter the big one in Darwin and is into the SF. There's not much depth but Dianne Hollands is top seed. I spose Izzy decided to play here on her way to Japan. Nice move.
Sophie Letcher also took a WC to enter the Gladstone one. She won her R1.
Former WTA-ranked player from a few years back Hayley Ericksen popped up on the one in south coast NSW but she lost her R1.

Izzy won the Darwin AMT very easily which is a good sign.
Sophie Letcher only won one match. I wonder why she's never recovered any decent form again?

I was just looking at a platinum AMT in Queensland and there is this seeded player Shannon Stamenovic, I was thinking...that's weird, I've never heard of this player. Turns out it's Shannon Golds  She married Sara Tomic's coach Johnny. |

Nicely spotted! We miss you Shannon! 
Edit: she beat Izzy Holland, Lyann Hoang and Dane Vorster. Not bad for her first tournament in 5 months. Maybe she's aiming for some of the ITFs later in the year? That would be fun.
