What Anna needs to do is take a break
it will do wonders for her
She will have 4 weeks between Wimbledon and the US Hard Court Swing.
that could just be what she needs

I think Elena might need a break aswell. Unless she can win in Holland and do well at Wimbledon.

I can't read that article (!), but Anna's comments after her loss to Grande, which I posted on the Eastbourne tournament thread, sounded very depressed. It is very telling that she no longer has the energy or the will to try to put a good face on things for the press.

tenn_ace, the Altavista Russian to English translation wasn't working. Can you summarize what the article said. Thanks!

the cat, nothing new comparing to what you'd read at any article about her loss to Grande... Just a translation, and a ton of usual garbage from www.gazeta.ru ( like that she lost to Venus Williams in Rome )..
I tihnk she is missing just one thing - playing doubles with Hingis. As soon as Hingis is back playing with her - you'll see Anna doing much better right away..

ys, Anna seems so beaten down! Maybe her only hope is to return to her roots. And I mean Moscow. The training facilities are much better there now than when Anna left in 1992. Right? It would be hard for her to swallow her pride and return home. But it just might re-create the energy and hunger for tennis that she once had.
I feel badly for her. She's lost, with no end in sight!

With Martina's chronic foot problems, it is far from a sure thing that she will take up doubles on a regular basis again.
Anna is going to have to find her own way. It's going to be really difficult for her to find her own way out of the morass, but if she does, she will be a much stronger person for it than if she leans on Martina.

Oh Janie! You make the situation sound so bleak!
Something or someone has to help Anna get things turned around. I wish she could do it herself. But unfortunately she can't.
