As I posted before, she flew back to Russia to get medical treatment.
Hopefully she'll come back healthy and strong.

Re: The Evgenia Linetskaya Thread
She doesn't have Israeli citizenship yet so she must go and get treatment at Russia.

Re: The Evgenia Linetskaya Thread
From BBC
"Hingis was joined on the withdrawal list by Russian Evgenia Linetskaya, who pulled out for personal reasons."
I hope this is not serious. It would be terrible if she stopped playing now, after winning 3 ITF singles and 1 Doubles titles .
Hurry back Zhenya!!!

Re: The Evgenia Linetskaya Thread
This is really strange! She wins 4 ITF title 3 single and a doubles looks to ready for the big tournies then disappears!?
I think there has pressure on her to either play for Israel or Russia. I doubt if we will ever see her again.
A real shame because she would have made her way back up the rankings for sure.

Re: The Evgenia Linetskaya Thread
I agree with your oppinion about her potential of being a top player.
I'm not so sure about the federations issue.
as i understood, she needed from the Israeli federation to help her detach from her sponsors to in order to come to Israel. That is only a matter of money. the Russian federation has IMO nothing to say about her leaving, and becoming an Israeli citizen.
What I'm more concerned about is her father. He alleged has beaten her in the past, Which always is a bad sine for the future, and could be the reason nobody has heard from her, since she left Israel to get medical treatment.
Anyway, even if she will not become an Israeli citizen, I wish hell all the best, and a quick return to the courts

Re: The Evgenia Linetskaya Thread
ronim1 Thanks for the info. I share your concern over her father, but I dont understand why she returned too Russia. One statement said for injury treatment and another for personal reasons.
Surely the Israeli Federation, ITF or WTA must share our concern about her whereabouts and well being. I hope our fears are unfounded and we hear some positive news of her.
