Re: Hong Kong January 2007
It should be a really good start for her, getting match practice against some of the best in the world, should set her up for a solid Australian Open

Re: Hong Kong January 2007
Nice looking line up, should be a nice warm up! Interesting to see 3 russians out of 8, and no all russian doubles team!!

Re: Hong Kong January 2007
Lindsay is probably out, so Sveta will have a different opponent.

Re: Hong Kong January 2007
Sveta lost to Lindsay's replacement -
Patty Schnyder def. Svetlana Kuznetsova 1-6 6-3 7-6(6)
Now she plays for the loser trophy, round 1 vs China's Zheng Jie

Re: Hong Kong January 2007
DUO TO MEET CHINESE ACES
By Andrew Mullen, PA Sport, Hong Kong
Kim Clijsters and Svetlana Kuznetsova set up a final clash with defending Australian Open doubles champions Zheng Jie and Yan Zi at the Watsons Water Challenge on Thursday.
The duo edged an exciting semi-final against Maria Sharapova, who had earlier earned a hard-fought win over Chinese doubles ace Yan in the singles, and Patty Schnyder 9-8 following a tie-break in the eight-game pro-set.
Clijsters and Kuznetsova will face the Chinese stars on Saturday at the exhibition event ahead of the Melbourne grand slam, which begins on January 15.
The game followed serve until Clijsters was broken to hand Sharapova and Schnyder a 5-4 advantage, but the tie was soon level as the Swiss ace netted after a long rally with the Belgian former US Open champion.
The next six games followed serve before Sharapova was broken and Clijsters held serve to open a 5-3 advantage in the tie-break.
A Schnyder double fault handed Clijsters and Kuznetsova a 6-4 advantage before the 2005 Gold Coast champion over hit a return to concede defeat.
