Re: Jelena's 2007 Schedule?
Big points in Tokyo and usually a fairly easy field for a Tier 1 tournament? I really hope she at least is planning to play there. What about warm-up events for AO? Just Sydney, or is she planning to play one of the smaller events as well? I know Anna Chakvedtadze is planning on playing one of them and if she does well, she could potentially push Jelena down to the #13 ranking, which I believe means that her round of 16 match up goes from playing one of the players ranked 5-8 to a player ranked 1-4? That might really prevent Jelena from going as far as she is planning. I think she needs to get into one of the first tournaments for next year to guarantee that she stays seeded 12 or higher.

Re: Jelena's 2007 Schedule?
Looking at the rankings a bit more closely, Anna C. is only 67 points behind JJ at this point. And I believe Anna is going to play one of the first 2 events of the season. That gives her opportunity to get the #12 seed and push Jelena down to #13. So the difference is that instead of playing one of Kim, Nadia, Martina or Elena in the round of 16, Jelena would be looking at playing Justine, Amelie, Maria or Sveta. Although I think that Jelena could beat any of these players on a given day, I like her chances of gettting to the quarters and beyond a lot better if she's facing one of the players ranked 5-8 instead of the players ranked 1-4..... Just my 2 cents, but that's why holding onto the #12 ranking could be so important for her to start the year on the right foot.

Re: Jelena's 2007 Schedule?
I've been curious about this as well. Hopefully, Luka will be able to find out her plans

Re: Jelena's 2007 Schedule?
I've no idea. I've been trying to get into it for days now and it's still down.
It's gone from being on the first page of google's search results to who knows where now.

Re: Jelena's 2007 Schedule?
JJ site isn't working for quite some while...
And when it was working it was like - JJ defeat Venus in 3. round of Wimbledon...the end

I guess you couldn't ever accuse them of being too wordy

Re: Jelena's 2007 Schedule?
Finally, I found the post I was looking for in GM. Only took me like an hour
Kittyking says Jelena might be playing the ASB Classic, although it's not confirmed at this point. She was right about Daniela though, weeks before the news came out.

Re: Jelena's 2007 Schedule?
The entry lists for the Gold Coast and Auckland tournaments are apparently released today, according to a thread in GM

ASB Classic Includes Four Top 20 Players
3:14 pm, 22 Nov 2006
For the first time there will be four players ranked in the top 20 of women's tennis in January's ASB Classic in Auckland.
The top seed for the tournament is Serbia's Jelena Jankovic, the world number 12 who reached the quarterfinals in Auckland two years ago as a teenager.
The 2005 French Open champion and former world number two Anastasia Myskina of Russia, defending champion Marion Bartoli of France and former world number four Daniel Hantuchova from Slovakia round out the top four.
The fifth seed at the $216,000 tournament is another Russian, this year's beaten finalist Vera Zvonareva, and the draw includes newcomer Sania Mirza, the first Indian to win a WTA title.
