Re: Your tennis results?!

Bad day at the office here.

Lost 1-6 0-6, and really never got in the match. He had a very old-style unconventionnal style, and was just taking the ball quite early and rushing the net. I wasn't feeling my shots at all, so I just couldn't do anything and didn't have time to settle into my game. Very disappointing, I was hitting so well this morning it was actually crazy. Stupid.

BUT, i did make more games than Ghinda for those who mentionned

Aww. Do you think my Ivanovic type game (but with better movement) would be effective on the ITF Futures circuit?

It's tough to say..I mean I don't play ITF's but I play USTA junior nationals and men's open and that's pretty tough so I'd imagine ITF would be a lot harder. My friend who plays ITF's says its hard as hell just to get 1 ranking point so I'd imagine you'd have to be a good college player IMO. I'd imagine the women's is not as tough as the men's though which sucks for us

I am a man, actually, I just play that way. I will have to see how I do in a men's open.

Haha. I wish my forehand was as deadly as Ivanovic's my backhand is my more stable shot but my forehand hit's more winners, but less consistent

Yup, for me...the backhand is there to be consistent and variety and my forehand is all the damage. I hit very flat, but can hit topspin and slice off of both wings when necessary. Coming in, my forehand is at it's best, which is why the Ivanovic comparison comes up.

Re: Your tennis results?!

Getting 1 point on the ITF is almost impossible. Winning a few matches here and there can be done with decent draws, but getting a point means qualifying and winning a round in the main draw, and u have to be incredibly solid to get through 2, 3 or 4 qualifying rounds.

It's a great experience for sure, but I'm always surprised at the amount of players with such a good level, who are just unranked. A LOT of college players, especially in the US Futures.

Re: Your tennis results?!

BTW, you have to sign up beforehand and have an IPIN to play a Futures. Well the IPIN is necessary, the signing up is just gonna help u immensely. You can't just get there and say: i wanna play.

Re: Your tennis results?!

You know I've started to play more like Clijsters now...every since I started to add a bit of her swing into my forehand, I've been feeling the urge to be a hybrid counterpuncher. It's a lot of fun, and I still have the ability to crack shots and take charge.

Re: Your tennis results?!

mixed league match last night, im mixed team captain so i really put my all into the mixed matches. my team won 5 sets to 4, but man was it tough and a nail biter.

after the 1st round me and my partner won our set 9-3, our 3rd pair won 9-6 and our 2nd pair won 9-8, 9-7 in the tie breaker (we play super sets 1st to 9 tie break at 8-8). so we were 3-0 up in sets going into round 2. round 2 and me and my partner won 9-5, our 3rd pair lost to their 1st pair 0-9 and my 2nd pair lost 3-9. so we were 4 sets to 2 going into the final round.

so i went off the boil big time, was making simple easy errors and we were losing. i could hear by the calling of the score from my 2nd pair on the next court they were losing, and my 3rd pair were losing to. so we find ourself at 4-8 down and i kind of relaxed and was striking nice backhands then, we leveled it up at 8-8 all and the tie break was so tight and i found myself hitting a shot 3/4 of the way onto the next court at one point lol. we wasted 2 mp's at 6-4 in the breaker, but i hit an off backhand winner at 6-6 and my partner hit a really nice forehand volley winner on the 3rd mp to win 9-8 8-6 in the breaker. the other to pairs lost 7-9 and 6-9, so we just sneaked the match 5-4 in sets.

it was nice that the people watching said i put in a captians performance after, i really did put my all into that match, and to win 5-4 was
