Re: Your tennis results?!

I just lost a tournament match 6-4 4-6 6-4. It really shouldn't have got that close though as I couldn't hit a forehand to save my life. I was messing around with changing my grip a couple of days ago and just could not get it in. Really disappointed. However I do compete alot better now than I used to and am pleased I managed to take it to 3. Don't have a tournament for a couple of months now.

Won my match 6-7 (3), 7-6 (4), 6-3 today. Pleased because it was a good match in windy conditions, and I choked twice and still won. (5-3 in the first, 5-2 in the second.)

Re: Your tennis results?!

Well, I got crushed 1 and 0

Started fine, won my serve to level at 1-1, got a bp for 2-1, broke a string. Then 1-2 30-30, broke another string. No idea why this happened. Then the third and last racket I had just was weird too, couldn't serve over the tape of the net, and framed so many balls. Red clay really wasn't working for me today, and my opponent was spinning and sliding like Nadal on a good day. Meh.

Atmosphere was great though. Played on central court, with umpire and scoreboard, the crowd was into it, especially when I barely hit the umpire with a framed ball (general laughter). My opponent was nice, and the people seemed excited a Canadian made it all the way in Italy, in their little city, for a tournament (especially because I meant a win for one of theirs )

Overall a nice experience despite the score. Now the bad turns into good: going to the beach in one of the nicest places on earth tomorrow

If you won, then you didn't choke. Good job.

Re: Your tennis results?!

Today there was a few showers, but i was lucky as i played my match in a indoor tennis court in the Del Norte Club. I won 6-3, 6-3. it is this thing where there is this association to teach tennis and there are lessons in various places. All the people being taught by this association is paired up to play each other. then we play doubles with another player. Today me and my partner lost, 3-6, 5-7 2 set points where not enough

Re: Your tennis results?!

Played a 4.0 tournament this weekend. It was VERY windy and that is my achille's heel.

I made it to the semis and lost 0 and 3.
There was a bit of tension in the match because I yelled and cursed and accidentally almost hit my opponent with the ball, so a tournament referee came to monitor the match.

I'm so annoyed I'm not going to watch or play tennis for a good while.

Re: Your tennis results?!

Yesterday I play a small tournament and it was pretty interesting. We had to play a pro set and let me tell you about the matches.

In the first match I played against a man who has been playing tennis for several months, it was really easy but I wasn't hitting the ball really well, it was the first tournament I played this year but I won 8-0. The interesting part is that when I was serving 4-0 I heard a yell, Sharapova-like and I could understand why becuase we were playing an only-men tournament so it was really weird. When I saw the match going on next to my court, there was this guy playing tennis like Monica Niculescu and screaming like Sharapova.

In the second match I defeated a ballbasher 8-1, I served extremetaly well. It was very easy becuase the guy made a ton of UEs.

In the semifinals I had to play Monica Sharapova, the guy who was screaming. I don't know what happened with my serve, I just couldn't get a serve in, it was awful and the game style of my opponent was really awkward and I lost 8-3. When I was serving 3-6 I hit an ace on BP and Monica Sharapova call it out like 30 seconds later, I was so pissed off and told him if he didn't have a mouth to make the call, he told he couldn't scream anymore becuase he had been screaming all day, I told him: Of course, becuase you're fucking Sharapova

At the end of the day, I learnt my lesson, I love Sharapova but the screaming part in annoying.

I can't wait for next week and get my revenge

Re: Your tennis results?!

My first interclub match in 6 years... I was sooooooooo nervous!
I won the first set 6-1... I could hardly believe it.
In the second set, I smashed an easy ball from like half a meter away from the net... straight into the net
That was the only point I lost in the second set
I ruled the court!!!
6-1, 6-0 (and 6-2, 6-2 in doubles ,,, I didn't face a singles break point )

At least you actually hit the ball, unlike that Federer dude on match point yesterday.

Re: Your tennis results?!

Played doubles for my club against another club yesterday. I was playing with a guy who i'd never even met before and in the first match we lost to their second team (two old but really crafty men) easily. I didn't play too badly but I missed a few sitters at the net and my partner was averaging at least 3 DFs a game which really didn't help us.

Then we played their first team, they were two really tall and young guys. One was around my age, about 18, and the other one was in his 20s and they had big serves and very good volleys. Amazingly it all just clicked for us and we played so well, I was just smacking down aces and return winners even off some of their first serves or else lobbing the guy already at the net and then putting away a drive volley, and my partner's DFs turned into second serve aces and we just MURDERED them 6-1 6-0. We even had a break point at 5-0 in the first.

It just felt so good to hit the ball well again.

Re: Your tennis results?!

i had the 2nd tie this weekend with my team
we lost our first tie 4-5
and this weekend we faced our toughest opponent and they won her first tie with 8-1.
it was fucking cold, just around 5°C.
since i was #5 in my team i had to wait, our #2 played a good match but lost on SuperTiebreak.
the other two matches went bad for us too and so i stepped with a 0-3 on court
My opponent was a player with a skill-level 15, my skill-level is 18 (1 = ATP top 500 players, 23 = Beginner)
so he was 3 Level higher then me, and i expected to loose, but my goal was to give him at least a good fight.
It was still freezing cold and as i stepped on court i was shaking like a leaf

He served first and was leading 40-15, then he served 3 DF in a row to give me a BP, and so i was able to break him.
My first service game was tight, he played many slice backhands and when i was to short he was attacking the net, but mostly i was able to pass him or i played a good short ball and so he had to play a very deep volley, and so i held.
On his serve he gifted me few more DF and the 2nd Break.
i held again and so i was up 4-0.
Then he started to serve a bit better and his forehand came better into play, and so he broke back.
I was able to break him again and had a 5-2 lead.
From this point he played much better and i was way to short on so he won 4 games in a row to take the lead at 6-5
For my own surprise i stayed cool and wasn´t nervous at all, i held my serve and so we had to play a tiebreak.
i took a 2-0 lead, and then we played the crucial point.
It was the first real hard-hitting ralley in this match, he tried to overpower me but i was able to take on his power and then i played a great Forehnad longline for the 3-0 lead, and in the end i won the tiebreak 7-4 (usually i´m very bad when it comes to tiebreak)
i was really happy about this first step, and i thought "Supertiebreak is already safe"
In 2nd set he really served well and i was mentally a bit empty, i tried a few stupid shots and missed them all, at least at the first few games, and so he took a fast 4-0 lead.
I caught myself thinking "don´t care if you get bageled, you will win the supertiebreak"
I got better at the end of the 2nd set, and had few chances to win at least one game, but i missed it and so i had to eat the bagel.
Supertiebreak started, and i don´t know why, but he seemed to be very nervous.
I was really relaxed again, after Unforced errors i yelled a bit, but then i focused on the next point, and after each point for me i pushed myself and said to myseld stuff like "move good, work good, and then you can force him into a Unforced Errors"
at 3-3 we had to change sides, and then again 8-4 for me.
i can remember how i said to myself "keep focused, 4 points are nothing in a SuperTiebreak"
he came back to 8-6, and then after a long rally i won the 9th point who give me a triple Matchpoint.
This was the first time i got nervous in this match, i was afraid to loose after holding triple matchpoint. My forehand went long and so it was 9-7
On my second Matchpoint i tried to attack the net again, but i caught him halfway with a short ball and he missed another deep volley
and so i won 7-6(4) 0-6 10-7

overall me and my team lost 2-7
