Leider rächt sich nun bitter, dass sie versucht hat, auf der großen Tour Fuß zu fassen und sich überall durch die Qualies der großen WTA-Turnier zu spielen versuchte und sich kein ITF-Polster von ca. 100-150 Punkten geschaffen hat.

Der Weg zurück wird steinig. Wenn er denn überhaupt genommen wird, ich bin mir da nicht mehr so sicher. Vielleicht haut sie nach der Olympiade tatsächlich in den Sack.

Als sie 2001 Davenport bei den Australian Open einen ziemlich geilen Fight lieferte, dachte ich, dass da echt ein richtig gutes Talent nachwächst. Aber es kam anders. Leider.

Alter Schwede, ich red schon, als ob sie den "Seles" gemacht hätte.

So. Qualifikation Indian Wells ist raus. Stéphanie Dubois mal wieder. Normalerweise hätte ich gesagt "ziemlich schlagbar", wie auch eine vermeintliche Gagliardi in Runde 2. Aber ich weiß nicht. Ich hab ja bislang in diesem Jahr schon zu viel bzw eigentlich zu wenig erlebt. Also warte ich einfach ab, was kommt und passiert.

Ich kann momentan nur positiv überrascht werden.....

Puuh. Mir ist gerade ein deutsches Mittelgebirge vom Herzen gefallen.

Letztlich war dies ein Pflichtsieg, aber zu durchwachsen waren Gretas Leistungen in der vergangenen Zeit. Mal unglückliche Auslosungen, dann GANZ beschissene Leitungen, dann das Drama gegen Schruff.

6-3, 6-3 gegen Dubois ist in Ordnung. Und ganz nebenbei wurden mit diesem Sieg mehr Punkte gemacht, als im bisherigen ganzen Jahr. 10. Scheiße, ey.

Mal gucken, was nun kommt.

Wahnsinn. Eine Kopie des Spiels gegen Schruff mit diesmal Happy End.

1-6, 1-4 mit gerade mal 34% der insgesamt ausgespielten Punkte auf ihrem Konto - wer hätte da noch an Greta geglaubt?

Und es passierte wieder - aus dieser aussichtslosen Lage drehte die DSS Arn das gesamte match und entschied es diesmal - trotz unpassender Bemerkungen eines pubertierenden Jungen aus dem Badischen - für sich.

Für meinen Geschmack ist es etwas knapp, dann in Fahrt zu kommen, wenn der Gegner schon die Tasche packt, aber wenn man derart souverän ist, dann kann man das natürlich machen.

Jetzt drücke ich die Daumen bei der Zulosung der Gegner, da sind ein paar einfach dabei, so dass der Traum vom Halbfinale in Indian Wells Wirklichkeit werden kann. Naja. 2. Runde ist ja auch schon ganz schön. Und nähme eine Menge Punktedruck vom Kessel.

Man wird sehen, vielleicht ist das Gretas Genießer-Jahr. Andererseits meinte sie, sie hätte noch Ziele nach ihrem Turniersieg... Kanns echt nicht sagen.

Ich finde, der Thread soltle zurück ins dt. forum. Find dieses Rumsurfen immer nervig. Und scheinbar sinds mehr Olympia- als Motivationsgründe für Ungarn. Aber das müsste man sie selbst fragen.

Sabine Lisicki in Runde 1, hätte schlimmer kommen können.

Danach Sugiyama, dann die bezaubernde Jelena Jankovic. Danach wiederum ein Opfer und das Viertelfinale ist erreicht. Dort dann die noch offene Rechnung gegen Davenport und das Halbfinale ist erreicht. Ist doch alles ganz einfach....

Naja, ernsthaft muß jetzt erstmal die Berliner Putze besiegt werden. Dann weitersehen.

Immerhin 15 Punkte für die Rangliste im Sack, das ist zur Zeit das Allerwichtigste gewesen.

Ich mische mich hier nur ungern ein (spledid isolation priciple), aber als intimer Kenner der geographischen Morphologie Baden-Württembergs dürfte es sich bei Schruffi um einen Landsmann aus Württemberg-Hohenzollern handeln, der sich wohl je nach individueller Präferenz entweder als Württemberger oder als Preuße betrachtet, nicht jedoch als Badener.

Wichtig für Greta war gestern zunächst auch ihren Status als ungarische Nr. 2 zu behaupten, also Czink und Nagy auf Distanz zu halten; was ihr momentan zu gelingen scheint.
