Clijsters gets stopped in the streets for doping test
From Kim's diary today:

Vorige week ook een onverwachte dopingcontrole gehad. We krijgen op de tornooien zelf meermaals controles en ook tijdens rustperiodes kunnen ze ons op een willekeurig moment komen controleren. Al is het wel een beetje raar als je plots op straat door twee mensen wordt tegengehouden en meegenomen. Maar ik vind het een goede zaak en kan alleen maar aanmoedigen dat ze doping zoveel mogelijk proberen weg te houden.

Last week I had an unexpected doping test. We get tested multiple times during tournaments, and also during resting periods we can be tested at any given moment. Though it is a bit weird if you're suddenly stopped in the streets by 2 people and have to come with them. But I think it's a good thing and I can only support the act they try to battle doping.
Well, this is going far indeed . But perhaps it does mean the tennis world is getting serious in it's battle against doping...

Gosh it's stupid to test player's anytime and anywhere. I think they should only make those tests during a tournament which the player is taking part in.

Well that's not a good way to ban doping. A lot of the doping is taken in the off-season (in any sport), because that's the time athletes can increase their mass of muscles through intensive training.
Which doesn't mean they have to pick them up in the middle of the street

Are you serious?
Out of competition tests are far more effective; most athletes know they get tested during competition and will make sure they don't test positive then (okay, they don't always succeed - but still). It's far more difficult to hide doping abuse if you can be tested at any time.
So I'm all for it - any day, any time. (well, not during the night time perhaps )

With the recent doping at the Tour de France they might increase it even more - and why only in cycling?

I hope she asked them for ID.
Otherwise she might find her bodily fluids being auctioned on eBay one of these days if she's not careful.

Good reaction from Clijsters. And nice to hear they _finally_ seem to be doing some random testing in tennis.
