Fasting?

I know most of you people are too young to have done something like this, but to anyone older: has anyone here tried fasting?

Tell me about it.... what is the benefit you expected and did you get it?
What exactly did you do?
What was it like?

i only fast during ramadan and i have to say its tiring..

usually i have sport at skool durin ramadan and its really tough playing sport and fasting..

OK, but for Ramadan you simply cannot eat during daylight, right? You have a big meal of whatever you want, after dark (and maybe early morning too), as I understand the custom.

But tell me if you are doing more than that or more details, please.

I was thinking of something more intense, like a 7 day fast or longer, where you drink only juice or intake some special fasting nutrients only. It's supposed to be for purifying the body, etc.

I've fasted for 3 days just drinking water .... I didn't notice a huge effect on my body except that I was getting tired earlier in the day. Also the hunger pains last about a day and then they pretty much go away.

Oh something like that happened to me once too. A friend and I got a nice bottle of wine somehow, and we kept it for when we wanted to drink it, then other girls living in the house just decided to drink it one night!! Didn't tell us either. When we asked about it, they found it to be no big deal, and blamed us for caring about it.

They will either make it up to you or not.... just let it happen as it happens and you will eventually know who cares about you and who doesn't.

What were you trying to accomplish with it?

Did you plan 3 days and you made it to the end? Or you just did it as long as you felt like it?

To purify your body, i think you just need to Drink fresh water few liters (i forget how much) right after you wake up in the morning ... And i've read somewhere, it is very good for your health, i could be a theraphy for some illness ...., but i've never tried it

I was feeling slightly bloaty and clogged and wanted to clean out my system basically. I planned 3 days because I had heard that fasting for more than 3 days can lower your matabolism and becomes unhealthy, and I wasn't taking supplements during the fast so I was being better safe than sorry

& it accomplished it's goal, felt great afterwards
