RULES AND INFORMATION:

Predict the scores of matches from all the rounds and get points on how
close you were to the correct score.
Making Predictions
Each tournament you must predict the score of WTA matches for that
tournament. Based on the size of the WTA Draw, you will have to pick so
many from each round. Now, the only predictions that you ABSOLUTELY
MUST MAKE are from the first round. After the first round, you may make as
few, or the maximum number in each round. So, if you forget to do round 2,
you're not out, just make some for the QF's or SF's or etc.

Code:
NUMBER OF PREDICTIONS:

32 Player Draw:
1st Round: max 7 predictions
2nd Round: max 5 predictions
Quarterfinal: max 3 predictions
Semifinal: 2 predictions
Final: 1 Prediction

Code:
SCORING POINTS

Now, for the points. For each match you predict, you will get points based on
how accurately you predict the match. Here is a list of all the points you can get:

Correct winner, set #, and all scores: 35 points
(ex: your prediction: davenport d. sharapova 3-6, 7-5, 6-2. actual score:
3-6, 7-5, 6-2)

Correct winner, set #, set scores, but the sets were in the wrong order:
25 points
(ex: your prediction: davenport d. sharapova 6-2, 3-6, 7-5. actual score:
3-6, 7-5, 6-2)

Correct winner, set #, and one set score: 20 points
(ex: your prediction: davenport d. sharapova 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. actual score:
3-6, 7-5, 6-2)

Correct winner, set #, and two set scores: 23 points
(ex: your prediction: davenport d. sharapova 3-6, 7-5, 6-1. actual score:
3-6, 7-5, 6-2)

Correct winner and correct set #, but no scores correct: 15 points
(ex: your prediction: davenport d. sharapova 6-0, 4-6, 6-3. actual score:
3-6, 7-5, 6-2)

Correct winner, incorrect set #, and 1 set score correct: 12 points
(ex: your prediction: davenport d. sharapova 7-5, 6-0. actual score:
3-6, 7-5, 6-2)

Correct winner, incorrect set #, and 2 set scores correct: also 12 points
(ex: your prediction: davenport d. sharapova 7-5, 6-2. actual score:
3-6, 7-5, 6-2)(this is also 12 points because the set # are incorrect..so
basically correct winner but incorrect set # gets you 12 points)

Incorrect winner (scores and set # do not matter): 0 points
(ex: your prediction: sharapova d. davenport 6-3, 5-7, 6-1. actual score:
davenport d. sharapova 3-6, 7-5, 6-2. even though you got 2 set scores
right and the # of sets, it doesn't matter cause your winner is wrong.)

Code:
RANKING POINTS:

Winner(1st)-- 195 points
Finalist(2nd)-- 137 points
Semifinalists(3rd/4th)-- 88 points
Quarterfinalists(5th-8th)-- 49 points
2nd Round(9th-16th)-- 25 points
1st Round(17th+)-- 1 point
After each round I will update the standings with the points you
receive for your picks. At the end of the tournament, you will receive ranking
points based on where you are in the rankings. The ranking points you get will be based on the Ranking Points the WTA Players receive for the round they make.

The actual rankings will be calculated after each tournament, and will
be done like the WTA Rankings(except the fact that all tourneys you play in count). They will run on a 12 month system, and you will lose points exactly 12 months after you gain them if you do not defend them. This will help keep the game close and more realistic. There will also be Race Rankings, which will be accumulated from the first tournament up until the last tournament before the YEC. The top 8 will make the YEC. After the Year-End Championships, the points will reset and everyone will start the next year from 0.

No need to sign up, just make your first round picks to be eligible to play!! Good luck!!

Semifinal Notes
Not too much changed after the semifinals. NyCPsU is still in the lead. SloKid moved up to 3rd with a good round there, and east_players, who had a great Quarterfinal round, scored an impressive 23 points in this round to move up into 3. NyCPsU automatically wins if he predicts the winner of the final right, gets the correct set #, and gets 1 set score correct. Although it's not an easy task, it would guarentee him the win if he could do so.

Anyone ranked 1-9 right now could potentially win, assuming they predict the final perfectly and no one above them scores. From Barlos (10th) down, however, are all out of contention.

The top scorer in that round was champion88, who got 27 points and moved himself into a potential winning position.

Good luck to everyone as we move into the final!

Quarterfinal Notes
206 seems to be a popular number this round, with 5 people all ranked at 5th place going into the quarterfinals. Our seeds seem to be taking over here, with 7 of the 8 in the top 8

Another thing that seems to be popular is perfect picks. That round, there wer a total of 5 perfect picks! Coming from:
east_players: Myskina vs. Dechy
gumoll: Henin-Hardenne vs. Likhovsteva
Hantu515: Myskina vs. Dechy
jrm: Henin-Hardenne vs. Likhovsteva
LUXXAS: Henin-Hardenne

Congrats to the above 5, as you all get 35 points for your perfect pick!

The biggest jump up in the rankings that round came from the 4th seeded adachi, who jumped up from 12 to 5! There were no major fallers after the quarterfinal matches.

NyCPsU is still in the lead going into the semifinals, and he is 30 points above 2nd place

The big scorer that round was east_players, who scored a massive 82 points, accompanied by a 35 point perfect pick!

Good luck to everyone as we move into the semifinals. There are 4 great semifinalists, so these are very tough picks. May be the best man or woman win

2nd Round Notes
After a tough 2nd round, there were very few changes in the rankings. The biggest move up came from the 4th seeded adachi who moved all the way up from number 12 to number 5 . The biggest fall in the rankings came from the LUXXAS, who fell 7 spots from #13 to #20, only getting 30 points that round

The fewest points in that round came from andrew_uk however, who only got 20 points and fell from 2nd to last to last. The most points came from our biggest mover-up, adachi, who managed to get an impressive 72 points.

There were no perfect picks that round, although a few people came very close!

Another interesting stat, there were only 4 people who scored more this round than they did in the first: Ceze (scored 8 more), champion88 (8 more), I♥Lindsay (6 more) and Vacant (3 more).

As for replacement picks, there were a bunch, but as people make their Quarterfinal picks they are making replacement picks, so only 2 people have them. adachi, you have 1 replacement pick to make, and Solitaire, you have 2 (but, you can only make 1 b/c there are 4 qf matches and you must do 3 actual picks, which only leaves 1 replacement). This is your last chance to do them, so you better get them done!

And for the rest of you without replacement picks, you might want to make a back-up pick using the other QF match you don't predict, just incase a retirment/withdrawal happens!

Who will take home this title, just 1 week from Wimbledon!? Stay tuned here for more updates adn Eastbourne: 2006 progresses!

1st Round Notes
In the 1st round, there were a total of 4 perfect picks, coming from:
Hantu515- Duchevina vs. Keothavong
meelis13- Perry vs. Castano
NyCPsU- Schiavone vs. O'Brien
smokovec- Schiavone vs. O'Brien

The seeds seem to be doing very well so far, with 6/8 in the top 10! cp6uja is having a great tournament so far, being the only seeded player in the top 5

I, of course, am in dead last. What else is new?
The other co-runner, NyCPsU (CJ) leads the pack with an impressive 119 points, 17 points above 2nd place

Please check the last column of the standings, as that tells what players have a replacement pick to make (all of which, except 1, come from the srebotnik withdrawal). Players with extra picks are: adachi, Ceze, champion88, east_players, Hantu515, I♥Lindsay, RR-87, & Solitaire.

Good luck to everyone as we progress into round 2, where you can make 5 predictions! This is the first of only 2 chances to use your replacement pick, so you better hurry up and use it! If you find any mistakes, let me know!!!
