Junior US Open doesn't count. The games have changed.

Sharapova up next. Not sure what to expect, haven't watched Sharapova play at RG. A set? But Kaia can't do whatever she did in 2nd set vs Rus.

Masha was pathetic against Kookie in the third set, she seemed very exhausted and in pain.

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!
Kaia is now knly 700 points away from top 10
If she can record a QF at wimbledon and do well in Eastbourne and Birmingham, she will be first Estonian Player ever in Top 10 in Tennis
She deserves it
Perhaps the more important thing though is that she will be seeded top 16 for Wimbly and Olympics
BTW, what happenned to her injury

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!
Tomorrow first match on Court Philippe Chatrier, starts 3pm in Estonian time, so I won't be able to see it But good luck, hopefully she is on a GOAT-mode and wins
I checked the RG website and Kaia's Sprint to the finish and Next round - quarter-finals photos are the most popular photos atm?

OH NO!
I will be in training until 5 so I will miss it also Someone has to record it for the others. I want to watch after the match to see how well/badly she played. Hopefully the former.
Come on Kaia, you can do it!!!

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!
Kaia lost to Sharapova 62 63
I'm slightly disappointed. Actually it feels like there was no match.
I'm not sure Kaia believed she could actually win. Looking at the stats it says she had 17 winners, and just 12 UEs. It felt like 1 winner for many errors. Well, it could have been even worse, but her serve was working well at times Everything else.. not so much.

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!
Was unable to see the match, check the scores at times. Kaia was actually leading 2-0 40-0 in the second set on own serve and then fell behind 3-2 after that (the next time I checked the scores)
Surely Kaia was not physically and mentally on court today. Sharapova can't outplay in form Kaia.

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!
Kaia told that she was enjoying the match but she was also very nervous at the beginning of the match.

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!
Some worrying news
What are your plans for the next weeks?
-I'm not sure yet.
When will you decide?
-I don't know yet.
Is it because of the heels? Is it possible you'll skip Wimbledon?
-It's possible. And yes, because of the heels. I don't feel pain during the matches, but in between. It's not possible to play tennis more than once a day. After the match with Wozniacki the heels were painful the next day, it wasn't a good feeling to play doubles. I can't keep this up for a long time. I have to take a pause to heal.
She has already decided to skip Birmingham next week. Eastbourne is a big question mark.
-I won't need an operation, but I don't know how long the healing process would take. I'd want the pause to be as short as possible, but I'll skip some big tournament if necessary.
If it would come down to choosing between Wimbledon and Olympics, she'd probably skip the former.

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!
Some more bad news, sadly my infamous computer from which I downloaded Kaia vs Justine is stuffed up and I may not be able to access it. If I can, all's good. If it's not, then I will have to re-download it
I should have tried to upload it to youtube earlier
