Re: Julia Glushko

Mind you she was 2-5 down in the third!
Second round was a bit more comfortable: Glushko - Johanna Konta (AUS) 7-5 6-3

If she wins her third round match, top seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova will be waiting in the QF

And a few minutes ago the 2nd round as well (seeded 7 with Tyra Calderwood [AUS], will probably meet the 3rd seeds in the QF).

Well, that needn't scare us anymore since she got hammered in the 3rd round 6-3 6-0 by Kucova (SVK)
Later she and her partner also lost in doubles, 5-7 in the decider.

It's not only a slump.
When was the last time she beat someone ranked higher than her?
All her big wins earlier this year in South America came when she was ranked # 1.
In all mayors she lost in the early rounds.
It's not that I don't appreciate her accomplishment, but she has a long way to go to prove to her and us that she really will be a top player.
I really hope she will become one.

Although it was too one-sided, it has to be said that her opponent went on to win the title, ousting the top two seeds (Pavlyuchenkova and the younger Radwanska) en route.
She is ~500 in the WTA rankings, much higher than Glushko, so it's a bit strange that she was unseeded here.
