Re: Julia Glushko
Thanks for the pics.
I wonder if we'll ever see her in the main draw of a slam (or the player in your avatar back in one).

I really wish so (for both) as well.

Re: Julia Glushko
Well she lost in the 2nd round singles, but reached the final in doubles where they lost to the 4th seeds.
Sadly, this is maybe her best result of the last year.

Re: Julia Glushko
Somewhat surprising the Julia tried her hand today at qualifying for a Premier(!) on red clay(!).
Could have drawn better than Ormaechea though and lost 3-6 4-6.
She was one of a bunch of WCs and there were even byes for the top 4 seeds.

Re: Julia Glushko
She seriously needs to do something with her career. It's not going forward... She has the weapons to be top 100 for sure.

Re: Julia Glushko
Looks like a nail biter whether she gets into the French Open Qualifiers.

Re: Julia Glushko
Julia is into a fake, 25K level 50K final in Canada after a crazy 6-1 5-7 6-1 win over Marie-Eve Pelletier.
She led 6-1 5-0 and that wasn't only the first set she dropped all week, but the first to get to 5-5!
Probably against top seed Sharon Fichman, whose Jewish parents lived in Israel for a few years.

She definitely could use the points in her drive to be a US Open qualifier.

Re: Julia Glushko
She lost that final to Fichman in straights which was a pity because it'll be a long while till she gets another chance for a 50K title unless something radical changes.
This week at a Canadian 25K which was clearly stronger than that joke 50K last week, she easily beat three players in the 350-400 range, then lost the SF to top seed Dubois. Strikingly similar to her showing last year in the same tournament where she also lost to Dubois in the semis.
Their H2H is now 0-4 for the Canadian without Julia taking a set (or even getting to a TB). She continues to struggle against better opposition, such as top-150 opponents, not to mention top 100.
She'll probably make the USO qualies.

Re: Julia Glushko
Nice win for Julia today in $50,000 Lexington Challenger.
Glushko beats T Hendler 3-6 6-1 6-2.
On to the quarter-finals against either Pavlovic or Mattek-Sands.

Re: Julia Glushko
I don't think Hendler is any better than Julia. The Belgian only just entered the top 200 and with tons of points to defend soon (three 25K titles in Sep-Oct last year) she'll be out of there soon. I have to admit that when she was 15-16 I thought she'd get much further, at least to the top 100 at this point.
Still a nice win considering she was a set down and it's a fairly important match.
BMS (if she wins) would be a much tougher hurdle.

Re: Julia Glushko
She's not beating BMS...
It was a nice run though
