10000$ Taipei, Chinese Taipei, May15th, winner: Tomoko Sugano
10000 Taipei, Chinese Taipei
Shin-Chuang Stadium
Surface: Hard
Taipei City (Traditional Chinese: 臺北市 or 台北市; Simplified Chinese: 台北市; Pinyin: Táiběi Shì; Pe̍h-oē-jī: Tâi-pak-chhī ; 25°02′N 121°38′E) is the capital of the Republic of China (中華民國) and the largest city on Taiwan island. Home to 2,618,058 people (March, 2006 census data, excluding Taipei County), it is the center of Taiwan's commerce, government, and culture. Taipei is a basin. The major industries in the city include electrical and electronic equipment, textiles, metals, ship-building, and motorcycles.
Taipei City is a special municipality administered directly under the central government of the ROC. It is not part of but surrounded entirely by Taipei County, which is administered as part of Taiwan Province. Because of the translation, "Taipei City" means the city proper, never the metropolitan area.

Why on earth is Su-Wei playing a $10K?
Great to see Ka-Po making a comeback after Fed Cup.

Tong Ka-Po is a very good friend of Su-wei. Part of the reason Su-wei is playing is that they will partner together in doubles.

I do not see the reason why su wei has to play this tournament..she should save her energy to play clay in europe soon..I hope she withdraws...this 10K and 25K are nor her tournaments anymore..

That's a ridiculous reason. Su-Wei's really wasted so many opportunities this year to get a higher ranking...
