Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread

After her doubles title last week Yuliya and her Swiss partner Steff Vogele have had a great start in Las Palmas - they beat Suarez-Navarro and Yakimova, the No 1 seeds, 62 64 in R1. GO GIRLS!

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread

To update, Yuliya won another doubles title in Las Palmas last week - with Steffi Voegele, - this week they are playing well too and are in the semi finals later today in Hamburg.

Yuliya is also in the quarter finals of the singles and plays Julia Georges later today.

GOOD LUCK YULIYA!

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread

Yuliya and Steffi won the doubles in Hamburg beating No's 1 2 and 3 seeds along the way - only lost 1 set. THREE titles for Yuliya in 5 weeks and a BIG BIG jump in her ranking.

Now for singles!

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread

Yuliya finally seems to be out of her slump. She's in the Qf of 25K Darmstadt, and plays against Korzeniak from Poland ranked 231. They have never played before. Yulia needs to get to the semi finals this week to avoid dropping any places in the rankings as she has sf points from last year to defend.

Her committments looks like this for the next 3 weeks

21-27 July: 25K Les Contamines seed 4
28-3 August: withdrawn from all events
4-10 August: 25K Coimbra, 25K Hechingen, 25K Monteroni, 75K Moscow

She has no points to defend in that time period, so a good chnace to improve her ranking

Yes, as a result of a couple of good wins in Poitiers, inclu no 99 Voskoboeva of Kaz in straight sets. The beginnings of a revival after her 3month+ lay off from injury after Estoril in April.
This week she has qualified with three wins in a $50K ITF in Germany.
Now plays Meusburger (Aut) No 2 seed R1, who she has a 21 HH record. Also in doubles as No 2 seed with Chaknashvili (Geo) and playing Meusburger R1.....!! GOOD LUCK YULIYA!!

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread

Yulia will play my local club tournament in 2 weeks. She already played last year losing in the final...

It's not even a 10K ITF tournament
The winner only gets like 500euros

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread

How interesting - would love to hear details of the tournament. Does Yuliya live nearby?

She was entered for tournaments in Belarus, Denmark and Japan in the next three weeks but has withdrawn from them all - pity, as loads of ranking points up for grabs and Yuliya seems to be playing MUCH better again. She is up from 293 to 280 in the rankings this week (248 in the race) and back inside the Top 200 in doubles having won three ITF tournaments this year.

Hope Yuliya continues to climb back up the rankings next year!

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread

After the QF in Dubai last week and 21 jump in the rankings
Yuliya is again in the QF in Delhi - should go at least one
further and another good jump UP the rankings where she
belongs !
