Yuliya starts her 2009 season with the WTA event in Pattaya.
Qualified easily having a bye, a win over a Thai girl 60 62, then the Japanese 8th seed 62 62.
Today Yuliya won her first round match vs Rodionova 62 62 - likely to play Peer R2.

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread
Yuliya been playing mainly WTA events this year and results better.
However this week played 10K satellite in Turkey and having won R1
60 61 and a set up in R2 she retired from the match. Any news as to why?
Yuliya seems to be making some v odd decisions as to where she plays,
eg- played 600,000K Stuggart when the Fes tournament would have been a
better bet and no doubt yielded more points.....strange.

Reasonable draw - GOOD LUCK YULIYA - a good run to start

the US Open qualies in late August;

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread
Pretty good week for Yuliya at WTA in Strasbourg
46 points in the singles which means a 29 place jump in the rankings from 249 to 220,(getting closer
to the cut off for grand slam qualies) AND
130 points from a semi final appearance in the doubles with Sun means a jump from 143
to 118 in the doubles rankings. KEEP jumping back up Yuliya!

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread
Yuliya had a rotten draw at the US Open, played Angelique Kerber (Ger), Nmbr 5 seed, R1.
Yuliya led 26 60 65 and served for the match and lost it.... 67 (5).....Kerber
went onto qualify....
This week ( Sept 6 ) Yuliya Nmbr 4 seed in the ITF 100K at Biella in Italy - beat
Nikola Frankova (Cze) 61 63 R1 of qualies ....good luck tomorrow vs Burnette (Ita).

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread
Yuliya started 2010 with two ITF tournaments in China, SF in both singles events; plus R/U in 50K doubles - close to Top 100 in doubles and closing in again on Top 200 in singles, although she has points to defend from WTA Pattaya, 2R MD.
