Re: Chia-Jung Chuang cheering thread
I saw the match. It was really impressive. The commentators kept on calling her Twang which made me wince, and shudder.

Re: Chia-Jung Chuang cheering thread
I did not get to see the match ESPN did not even broadcast it here in the states. I remember that Chia-jung can crank very fast serves and maybe that's the key to her doubles success? I wonder how fast are her serves compared to Chan's?

Re: Chia-Jung Chuang cheering thread
Anybody else disappointed that Chia-Jung now seems to be concentrating on doubles?
I understand that she's probably making a lot more money playing WTA doubles events, but it's sad to see her waste her singles talent, because I believe she's capable of really improving her singles ranking too...

Re: Chia-Jung Chuang cheering thread
I think her long-time injury can be one of the factors. That affected her so often.Maybe it's wise of her to focus on doubles, for she really is a Grand Slam Champ material and she hasn't had much progress on her singles ranking throughout these years. But yeah, also for me,I would like to see her doing better and better in singles.

Re: Chia-Jung Chuang cheering thread
I'm disappointed she's only focusing on doubles at the moment, yes. She has a big serve and a big forehand, and now she should be developing more confidence at the net. TianTian has turned from pure baseliner to approaching the net and winning a lot of points there, she's just inconsistent and a bit of a headless chicken at times I'd like to see Chia-Jung come back, but just like Yan Zi, she's following in someone else's footsteps

Re: Chia-Jung Chuang cheering thread
What I hate is the fact that Chia-Jung's concentrating on doubles despite having a good 2006 and returning to the Top 200...
She'd gotten herself into a good position to play GS qualies, but's given up on that...
